    Kaiser Knuckles [6.0 spoilers]

"When cataclysm loomed over the Near East, the hero Mirza arose to defend the people from fell fiends. Once he had torn the monsters apart, he raised a mighty empire- and fashioned a pair of weapons such as these from his foes' claws!" - Jalzahn

In retrospect this makes me think of the Final Days of Thavnair, especially since the weapons have a very carpace-y/alien appearance that's consistent with the aesthetics of Blasphemies. Obviously the cataclysm in question isn't the final days but it makes me wonder if we have any other info on the "fell fiends" or Mirza?

It was probably just referring to voidsent, as when a Calamity loomed the dimensional boundaries between the Shards thinned, thus allowing voidsent to materialize in areas where aether was particularly concentrated, such as aetherytes - this was especially apparent in the lead up to the Seventh Calamity (reflected in gameplay in 1.0's last days where voidsent swarmed the three cities and even aetheryte camps were not safe havens due to Atomos appearing above them and disgorging even more).
