It makes me sad to see how many inconsiderate people there are out there who just troll and make this about American politics.

This is a tragic event and a massive earthquake on the Richter scale. I hope the people affected are safe and can start to rebuild safely without more after quakes.

The earthquake is a serious event and I feel for the people affected by it. Japan's technology and building codes are such though, that hopefully few people have been harmed. I am more concerned about the growing activity of the super volcano beneath Kyushu. If that thing goes, Japan is SOL.

The world itself would be SOL. US has a similar caldera in Yellowstone.
