Power-ups in the next deep dungeon

I think it would be pretty cool if the next deep dungeon focuses on exploring the rooms in the floor to obtain permanent power-ups and the tradeoffs between them. Something similar to WoW's Torghast anima powers (Which in my opinion was the only fun part of the whole experience)
Imagine if you explore the floor as a black mage and get across one that offers you two options like "Your casting speed is reduced by half but the potency is also reduced by half." and "Your casting speed is increased by half but the potency is also increased by half"
Some job-exclusive power-ups and general power-ups with the tradeoff being in the power-up itself or in choosing between one of the two.
Yes, balancing will be totally broken, with things like tanks getting some power-ups and ending up having self-heal better than any healer can provide, or healers dealing damage in numbers bigger than the DPS. But I believe this is why I like the idea and why its fun. It's a system that is meant to be broken without affecting the outside environment of the game (You leave the instance and lose your power-ups. Nothing such as carrying them to dungeons and trials).

Yeah but then that will create two problems which were also present in at least 9.0 Torghast.

    1. Imbalance among Jobs regarding the powers they get. I remember Shaman getting some insanely cool things like a permanent Bloodlust. Meanwhile Priest was... Awful. Boring besides the one power that let you stack damage taken into a buff, releasing all of that into a DoT cast. Of course that was also limited in a way by your health (maxed out at X10 your health? But you could get health increase powers to beef that up).

    2. Further on that, levels and bosses being balanced around getting the most optimal powers. I remember being quite upset at some nerfs both my favourite specs' powers got (Discipline Priest and Arcane Mage).

It sounds fun on paper but it really depends on the powers in practice IMO.

True, but then again we're dealing with more competent devs in terms of testing and balancing. So, while your concerns are correct! I personally have every confidence they will break each job and each power-up equally xD
Joking aside. I'm really sure an implementation of this feature will go through much QA to ensure it doesn't at least get abused. If they're incapable of implementing this feature then maybe something similar to lost actions? I like the concept of deep dungeons but HoH felt just a reskinned PotD with nothing much to it aside from magicites and large rooms. Deep dungeons has the potential to introduce new different playstyles and I believe the devs should use this potential. If done right, it can be a testing ground to a much bigger changes in the gameplay

Deep Dungeons are their own different playstyle already.

Past that introductory point, you're meant to carefully explore. It's something of a throwback to some of the older games, where you actually spent a good amount of time (hours) exploring and completing runs. If you failed, that was the end of it. No second chance.

A full run of PotD can take up to 8 hours for a party. HoH became more manageable at 4.

There's beauty in the simplicity of the buffs offered. If you start playing around with job specific item/ buffs being placed around the maps, that just creates a situation for more disappointment, when something meant for 1 of 19 jobs is unusable. Where's the fun in that?

In the end, I don't see them adding too much to the new DD. It will already be something to be played with level 80 skills, so that's already offering a more interesting experience.
