I followed the parent instructions for the tarball here: https://github.com/rwtnorton/intel-mac-py2-bandage
It's a kludge - but it doesn't install a default python per se, and it got FFXIV running again for me. (Intel Macbook Pro).

I followed the parent instructions for the tarball here: https://github.com/rwtnorton/intel-mac-py2-bandageOne person put up a link to https://jp.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes.../blog/4980625/ which is the "download a python 2.7 tarball and try to ram it into your computer" type post. Of course, that is a messy way to do it and urgh, they don't really go into all the modifications that are needed, so people will end up destroying their computers. Although she does mention xivonmac as well in the comments.
