Sujet : Macos Monterey 12.3 - Python removed, FFIXV will not run

I recently installed the latest version of Macos, Monterey 12.3, on my Mac Pro and now Final Fantasy crashes when started. Following text extracted from crash log:
"Termination Reason: Namespace DYLD, Code 1 Library missing
Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/Python
Referenced from: /Applications/FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE.app/Contents/MacOS/FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE
Reason: tried: '/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/Python' (no such file), '/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/Python' (no such file)
(terminated at launch; ignore backtrace)"
Apparently Python has been removed from this Macos release.

People should avoid installing this Macos release until a fix is available.

I installed Python 2.7 and tried running Final Fantasy again but now I receive a message:
"Initialization Failure - CrossOver is unable to initialize a critical component"

I have discovered a workaround at xivmac.com and everything is working again. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future patch?

I'll add to this stating the removal of Python 2.7 was a known situation as it was EOLd Jan 1, 2020. vs 3 was released in Dec of 2008. CodeWeavers really don't have an excuse as to why they didn't make sure it works with the newer version of Python. That being said, Square Enix could have also built a native client from the beginning.

I had to do the same thing which worked, but not an ideal solution. Hope an official fix can be put out sooner rather than later :/

Unfort. Square Enix has neglected the Native Mac launcher for more than 2 years. Meanwhile, they will still charge you full price for a Mac license. If you upgrade to 12.3, your only option is playing on "XoM" or XIV on Mac, which is a 3rd party Mac launcher.

M1 Support won't come unless they build a fully native client. Which if it isn't already in the pipeline, I doubt one will come before the next decade is up.

Thanks for the comments. Everything still working fine on XIV except a minor problem with lights in the inns blinking on and off. Probably a graphics setting needs tweaking. I have a AMD FirePro D300 in my Mac Pro.

I've seen the same thing, along with areas of the screen being whited out as if someone took a paintbrush to portions.
If you find graphics settings that help, please share them.
