A cry for help - South America

The year is 2022.

However, there is not yet a South American server. But the worst part is that we don't see prediction or just a word anywhere.

We are a gigantic community. A fanatical community, if not the most of all.

We deserve to be heard.
We understood before when they talked about the difficulty of establishing themselves in the region, but it has been almost 10 years. Other games came in the meantime and won a legion of worshipers.

Why can't Final Fantasy do the same?
We have what it takes to do better than them.

That's why I beg:

Please listen to us.

I think with the recent changes to the data center menu, you can see that there is a data center in every region except there so hopefully this is obvious to SE as well.

The Oceania data center took years of planning so it willl most likely be the same for this if it happens, especially with the semiconductor shortage and some countries still being impacted by covid restrictions.

Would be interesting to see player distribution by region. Just how many south american players there are

Considering there isn't even an official Spanish/Portuguese language translation, I would be surprised to learn that there's a large enough player base in the Americas outside the United States and Canada to warrant an entire data center supporting it.

But if I'm wrong here, then I'm all in favor of expanding the game for South America to have a dedicated data center.

As an OCE player - pretty sure you guys should have got a datacentre before us. The Aus/NZ population really isn't that big.

Yeah, but OCE are generally english speaking that was put in a server that was both in a different language/writing system/culture. So really a datacenter makes sense there as priority.

I would rather have a regional pricing subscription, playing FFXIV here in South America, Argentina is a luxury with all the taxes and the economic crisis

monthly minimum wage: 33k ars, less than 170 usd (1 usd = more than 200 ars)

That's never gonna happen because that means SE will have to translate the entire game to Spanish.

They never cared because the community of SA players are so tiny due to language barrier.

Not really. Look at the example of Lost Ark: it has an SA server but the game remains entirely in English.

We need better gameplay conditions first of all.

A fully translated game with bad gameplay wouldn't solve the problem.
