That isn't true. You can go to the system menu and open the support desk. The contact tab contains a "Report Harassment" button and you can find more specific report forms in the information tab, which features a GM Service Main Menu.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

I find it interesting that in a thread that is solely dedicated to praising the community, there are numerous references to bad players and detailed discussions in how to report them.

I could make a guess as to why that is. The people running the game actually do take reports of in-game harassment seriously. A lot of the community credits that at least partly with how everyone treats each other. If being abusive is going to put you at actual risk of a suspension or ban then the people more likely to act that way either learn to stay quiet or are filtered out of the community over time. On top of that, the game offers bonuses for helping new players with their first instance runs so rarely do you see someone upset someone is new(plus the roulette system in general encourages running content more then once which helps new players as well). There are some other design-level decisions that were made that all add up to the same thing. A community that is not perfect, but is great by a large degree. Enjoy your journey through Eorzea!

I only brought it up because I had just been in a group situation where someone did something I wanted Square to look at... I was used to right clicking on the name (from another game) and all I saw was RMT AND someone else brought the issue up. Yes, I do NOT run into anything I'd want to report in much of any quantity, maybe 2-3 times over my first full year playing the game.
As for community, I have spent many years in guilds in another MMO, the FC I am in now is simply a wonderful place to be in. Just one example, hanging out at the FC house, someone say to me my gear needs replacing... half an hour later he presents me to a full & complete set of the highest ilvl crafted gear in the game! I mean the stuff would have cost millions to buy on the markerboard... some community, eh?
Several years plus playing, still feel like a newb/sprout

Same. The dungeon etiquette is also very kind, everyone says "Tyfp" after completing the dungeon. I'm new to MMOs, but I know that communities like this are rare. It makes the leveling experience very pleasant and engaging.
And, I come from a background of playing league of legends(yeah, I know) so I am extremely used to toxic communities.![]()

This community in general are kind and very chill. Are there bad apples, yes, but majority are very kind and forgiving.
