Can something please be done about GC quota limits?

I know I've issued a complaint about this before, but can something be done about the limits on GC quotas? I can't begin to describe how frustrating it is to spend hours gathering specific materials to trade in, only to be told that the quota has been filled, all I can do is wait the 30 hour cooldown time, and return to find a hoard of people swarming the desk and that the quota has been filled...again...

All the quota limits have done has allowed certain individuals to hold a monopoly on them, and so I'm going to request this again: Please either make the quota limit an individual limit, or abolish it entirely.

The trick is to stock up on what you know they'll need for the next round.

And THAT is the problem. Some of us have a life outside of the game, and don't have the luxury of being on exactly when the quotas reset, ergo, the people who can be on and resort to flooding the quotas hold a monopoly, and at the same time deny those who can't no chance to progress.

I think you are overexaggerating. You have six opportunities a week to turn in your stuff. miss a day? try the next. Even on the most overfilled servers those npc's wont be camped every reset, and certainly not for every turnin category.

not at all, like I pointed out, people with the time are abusing the current system in order to fast track thier seal collection. It wouldn't be an issue if the quota limits were on an individual basis, but the limit posted covers every person on a given server, and some of these quotas are woefully inadequate, especially if you are on one of the larger servers.

Case example: 1700 sprigs of mistletoe per quota, up to 3 sprigs per gathering attempt, and very common. That quota is going to fill up fast. by comparison 5000 mahogany logs take much longer to fill up, especially since you can only get one log per gathering attempt. (and they're already a less common drop to begin with.) And as Victor pointed out, you are now stuck with stacks of materials you may or may not be able to sell taking up inventory space for the next two months.

To reiterate: the current system is an improvement over what we had, but it is still inadequeate for larger servers, and needs to be either further developed, or removed.

Not to mention it actually takes 2 whole months for the next "round" requesting the same items to occur.

They need to significantly lower the quotas for each turn-in and make them character-specific instead of server-specific. That way each person works on his or her own quota and gets an equal chance to gain seals.

(exactly like guild points in FFXI)

You're slightly mistaken unless the DoL Provisions list is mistaken the cap for Maho Logs is 2.5k while Mistletoe is 3k but I will agree that the amount you get for each one is skewed. Since you can get up to 3 Mistletoe cuts an attempt that's basically 15 points a meanwhile meanwhile maho Logs can only be 4 a cut or 6 HQ.

The problem is they never balanced it upon making changes to how much of each can be obtained, Electrum ore use to be 2-3 max I think but it was bumped down to 1 a few updates ago. Electrum Ore has 5k with 3 per turn in, which definitely isn't worth it considering you only get one an attempt, had it stayed at 2-3 max then 3 would be alright but due to the change they should have at least changed that to 6-8 a turn in with 8-10 for HQ. In the same sense of Maho that should be changed to a 8-10 itself and then the LL Maho lumber should change to ...

**Error when looking at Mahagony Logs didn't realize two GC had it as a turn in item**
--Upon looking closer at the data the Maho you are talking about is the "unlockable" turn in for LL, you guys have it good least you get a decent amount for the log turn in at 6 witha 5k cap meanwhile we Gridi has it at 4 a turn in witha 2.5k cap lol.---

There definitely is room for improvement since changes have been obtained to the quantity of certain items so that turning in said items is balanced with the changes they made. Guess the best thing to do would be to take a look at items that use to be multiple obtained in a gather attempt and bring it to the attention of the devs so they can logically change the amount you can get for them per seal to balance it with the nerf they made to how many you can gather.

I mean here's another perfect example, for Gridi GC Walnut Logs are worth 5 a piece at 3k limit, Electrum is worth 3 a piece at 5k limit , you can obtain up to 4 Walnut but only 1 Electrum.

Hm let's look at this for Gridi's GC it's
    Name------------Yield-Seals-Max turn in per round
    Electrum Ore-----0>1---3------5k
    Walniut Log------1>4---5>20--3k
    Ash Tuna--------0>1---3------5k
    Black Sole-------1>3---3>9----6k
    Cobalt ore-------0>1---3------5k
    Mistletoe--------1>2---5>10---3k
    Rothlyt Oyster---1>3---2>6----7.5k
    Rosewood Log---0>1---6-------5k
    Raw Lapis lazul--0>1---5-------3k
    Mahogany Log---0>1---4-------2.5k
    Crimson Crayfish-1>3---2>6-----7.5k
    Jade------------0>1---9--------3.4k
    Raw Garnet-----0>1---9---------1.7k
    Yew Branch-----1>5---3>15-----5k
    Black Ghost-----1>3---3>9------5k
    Oak Log---------1>3---5>15----6k
    Raw Sunstone---0>1---5--------3k
    Oak Branch------1>5---3>15----5k
    Northern Pike----0>1---5--------3k
    Velodyna Carp---1>3---3>9------6k
    Raw Peridot------0>1---9--------1.7k
    Yew Log---------1>5---3>15-----5k
    Box Turtle-------1>3---2>6-------7.5k
    Mandrake--------1>4---6>24-----6k
    Mythril Ore------0>1---3---------5k
    Maple Sap-------1>4---3>12-----5k
    Monke Onke-----0>1---3---------5k
    Wyvern Obsidian-0>1---2---------15k
    Raw Sphene------0>1---5--------3k
    Elm log-----------1>3---3>9------5k
    Saber Sardine----1>3---5>15-----3k
    Rosewood Branch-1>3---5>15-----6k

    ------------

Judging from the above all of the grade 5 gatehred items that were turned into 1 yield should go for 9 a piece since the raw stones of the same grade for 9 a piece themselves. I do apologize if it does look messy but this just gives one a general idea of where the imbalance may lie, one could also use it to determine which items are best to gather from to earn the most GC lol.
