    Please adjust APM of AST and DRG to prevent hand injury.

    Yes, I know there’s a lot to weave for both of these jobs, but I remember seeing on Twitter earlier last month that a high-end DRG player was having trouble with his hand because of how much you had to weave in one go in opener, as well as while you’re continuing your rotation.

    The same problem lies in AST’s heavy reliance in oGCDs, namely when you need to get cards out repeatedly in opener alongside Divination or need instant cast healing on demand; Minor Arcana doesn’t help this either.

    I’m not sure how to fine tune it, but as a safety reminder our hands are our most precious tools that we use for everyday work and play. Losing them would make our lives extremely different.

    Is this for controller users? I use a controller and I never had an issue with Dragoon with the way I bound my keys with the ability to double tap to open up quickly an extra menu. I'll cosign to whatever makes classes easier to play starts to merge abilities as you level. I know they have been getting better with that after they removed the Cross Class System and started with the ability to auto upgrade old abilities. I am hoping they do this to more abilities.

    Also would love to see more accessible options for disabled gamers who had strokes or have an issue such as MS where movement is very hard.

    I know AST has some buttons that can and should just be combined into one slot, like Draw and Play Minor Arcana. I know more experienced AST players than me had some nice suggestions in the Healer forums that might be a place to start looking. Mine is only level 80 but even I noticed some card-related buttons that don't seem to really need two different action slots for what they do.

    its quite strange because they adressed this issue in 5.3 with how minor arcana was changed, and i thought it was a godsend (my hands would hurt really bad after a day of progging TEA or Uwu before the changes, not anymore)


    then endwalker came and the charges on draw made it worse than before. having to draw every card and use astrodyne and MA on the super tight 15s window is more weaving than the OG sleeve draw opener. i had gone all of shadowbringers without play macros but i had to do it for endwalker because it was too much.


    makes me wonder if they even playtest healers at all considering the repeated offense of horrible usability. (we know they dont)

    i dont know how they can adress the issue without bringing sleeve draw back and getting rid of the charge on draw. having to play & draw 3 cards back to back is the culprit here.maybe if they put draw on the gcd like ninjas mudras? i hate how that sounds but it would admittedly make it a lot easier on the hands.

    i still love how busy ast is, mind you, id personally be happy with an extra charge of LS to accommodate all those weaves, but i think theres a balance between "busy" and "hand-injuring". i found macros to alleviate the problem a lot because i dont have to scroll the pty list up to 4 times in the split second i have, but macros are terrible for queueing so that cant be the solution for everyone

    You know there are games with stellar apm requirements and people do just fine ? I sure hope they don't dumb it down further. If you want to treat your hands good do some climbing/deadlift/farmer's carry/whatever and that'll translate to everything.

    I think they are play testing with the hardcore players who don't mind this or see it as punishment but rather pleasure so they can get an 'accomplishment'

    Not everyone is capable of doing that, and consider this is mostly when you’re using your fingers in certain ways that it puts strain on your hands. Also, this is on Keyboard, which a lot of MMO players play with. On controller the worst thing you’re going to get is hand cramps.

    Taking regular breaks helps at the least, but high APM + high execution can cause issues. Also as Qoo said, Macros are helpful; but the best way is simply to tune the job to where we aren’t over bloated on oGCDs like we are currently.

    FASTro opener would like a word with you. Along with DRG, NIN, GNB, and DRK(very high APM opener) to note the worst offenders.
