    The Tecnical error persists on Steam Version even after changing my profile name

    As the title says, the error happening after the march 8th update still persists even after changing my name in my steam profile, restarting the launcher, the steam app and the PC multiple times didnt help as well.

    Same here. Tried changing my steam profile, launcher just errors out.

    Ok, so apparently going into the directory and deleting the ETC folder fixed the launcher for me

    It started working for me after I not only changed my name on steam to only be alphabetical but also just used the basic font instead of a fancy one like I did before, if you're using some fonts from a website or something that might stop you. If not I don't know.

    i saw that post and honestly i dont want to risk having to re download the game, at least until tomorrow. my internet is painfully slow so it would take me over a day to re-download the game

    my steam name has been alphabetical, without anything fancy, for years and i still had the problem. i changed it to something else, but the problem still persisted.

    Then there has to be something else and in that case I can't help you, I was also waiting to see if there'd be updates and decided to try that out and it worked for me.

    We apologize for this ongoing issue and I would like to suggest the following methods below to help resolve the issue.

    - Uninstall the game and delete the installation folder. Then reinstall the game directly through the Steam Library.
    or
    - Delete or rename the "etc" folder that exists within the game's installation folder. Please also check the game folder in "My Games" as well.

    Below are the default locations for the installation folder:

    - Standard Windows version -
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

    - Steam version -
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online
