I think what you're looking for that would make more sense would be an action glamour system. The idea here is that each job could have a separate window in the UI where you can set which animation certain actions use. The surface level implementation of this is giving players the ability to choose between which iteration of a spell's animation they want to use without losing the potency of their most recent update. Immediately, several jobs would appreciate this, such as WHMs that want to return to using Stone and Aero, SCHs who might prefer Broil III to Broil IV (a lot of people aren't a fan of how Broil IV sounds), and MCH of which many players have spoken up about wanting the simpler gunshots of the 1-2-3 combo.

On a higher level, it could also be used to create more aesthetic styles to jobs over time. For example, in Bozja, there's a Doman DRG NPC that uses unique versions of DRG actions that incorporate more cherry blossoms and a general eastern vibe that could be given to DRG as an optional "Skin" of sorts for your abilities. This could also allow for more summons to be added to summoner. It's entirely possible that Ramuh, Leviathan, and Shiva could be added as different parts of the SMN's kit next expansion, but other summons like Ravana, Bismarck, Susano-o, and Lakshmi could be given as alternatives. Bard could also get harp versions of their archery to create a more genuine musical job without alienating the people who like the archer aspects. This is a lot of work, though, and I imagine if we ever did get this system, we'd start off with the more base level implementation of it.
