If you are having 90002/90001/Disconnects, CREATE POST ON "IN-GAME BUGS" FORUM

Following suit, as with the other FFXIV issue.

Since there seem to be dozens of separate threads in this forum alone, not to mention all of the Reddit comments/posts and full Discord channels full of frustrated, paying, unable-to-play people that is continuously reaching more and more people as time goes on, I'd like to get this thread started to hopefully draw SE's attention to the amount of people having the issue. Per every 1 person that reports here, I'm sure there's at LEAST a dozen more that aren't on the forum having the same issue. I'm probably thinking too generously.

Please reply here with a short and simple version of "Yep, I'm having it too". We're paying for this game, we shouldn't have to draw this much attention to an issue so many of us are having. But apparently we have to for them to address it properly.

    ----
I've had this issue for over a month, and the game is unplayable, getting disconnected with 90002 and 90001 errors every few min, sometimes seconds. I've tried all of their troubleshooting tips, emailed support a dozen times, provided concrete data it is an FFXIV server/game issue with the below summarized information, begged for the issue to be escalated, and they keep telling me it is my PC or a network issue and close the ticket without any help whatsoever besides sending me the troubleshooting tips they've sent me already 10+ times. My patience is thinning fast.

1.) I have sent proof that the FFXIV SERVERS are dropping packets using tracert and WinMTR, and no nodes in-between are dropping

2.) My wife plays FFXIV with NO issues on her account, and she plays on the SAME computers, on the SAME network as me. Not one disconnect. Ever. So that is 100% proof it is a FFXIV server/software issue, and not a PC/Network issue.

3.) There are dozens of others on the FFXIV forums with this same issue, most of which FFXIV team has closed without resolution, as they did my ticket and other tickets so far. They close them stating it is our network, when we have proof it is them.

4.) And yes, before all of this, I have tried all of your 'troubleshooting tips' including router ports, IE config, administrator privileges, etc , in addition to uninstalling the game. Considering point #2 above, this would make no difference anyway, but for giggles I tried every one of them anyway.

THIS GAME IS CURRENTLY UNPLAYABLE, and has been for over a month now for me. The FFXIV support team has been completely worthless in helping with this issue, even though I send concrete proof.

They don't care we are paying for this service and cannot play. I've even asked them to escalate to a technical team multiple times, with no luck. Dozens of emails and support tickets, and zero help on their end. They just send this same 'troubleshooting tips' over and over and point the finger at us. Worst support ever.

    ------
May or may not be due to Packet Loss at FFXIV server, but here is proof there is indeed packet loss going on at their side, and they can't blame us. Two separate dates May 1, 2020 and May 6, 2020

    Yep, I'm having it too.

I tried the usual "troubleshooting tips" that seem to get posted by Moderators on problems like this:
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
All done. No change. Still getting disconnected with 90002.

The issue is getting worse as well. Last week I had this roughly every hour or so. Since this week l now I get disconnected twice in a dungeon run including queue of ~10 min.
So I‘m down to being disconnected at roughly every 20 to 30 minutes now.

Not enjoyable having to apologise to people for disconnects all the time.

    EDIT:

    I started an experiment today.
If it is not an actual connection issue of my PC (which I doubt it is) but rather routing issue (ISP) or connection issue on a FFXIV server/gateway (whatever) I might be able to get a stable connection when I change the routing or get connected to a different FFXIV server/gateway (whatever).
For that reason I installed a gaming related VPN. That way I should get different routing via the VPN and I assume since for FFXIV my location changed seemingly that I will be connected to a different FFXIV server/gateway (whatever).
    I choose ExitLag: https://www.exitlag.com/en/
Because it has a 3 day free trial without credit card requirement however I would assume any VPN to work since from my point of view the all do the same… so Surfshark, NordVPN etc. probably work as well.

Anyway thus far no disconnect, no 90002 since my initial post. So yea this seems to indicate that the issue is most certainly not my PC or home network but rather either something with an ISP or the servers/gateways of FFXIV.
Of course this does not resolve the issue but rather bypasses it. However if you are affected give it a try since the trial time is free.
If it works for you maybe it is worth to subscribe such a VPN until SE sort this issue out.

Interesting. Glad it works for you, but that didn't solve it for me. My wife has no issues, and I checked the routing path, and her path is exactly the same as mine, except for a different final destination on the FFXIV side. So if her packet route is exactly the same, and she's not having issues, it can only be account or final FFXIV server related, no?

I experiencing Error Code 90002 and 10105. They are fairly frequent. I will now proceed with the 'tips' the have listed to you and see if I have any luck. Keep you posted!

I get the occasional disconnect, but amount is highly random depending on day or time of day.
Doubt very much its truely account based. Does your wife play on a different server kind of has to be if she has a different destination IP-adress? Do you both play at set times? If so change around and see if problems change?

Also its not the node itself that is dropping the packet, but the route between the server you marked and the one above it. Could be anything on that route.

As for issue's getting worse for some, internet is taking a real beating right now traffic wise. So delays and possible packet losses are only to be expected.

I had this issue for a few days last week. It would disconnect every 20-30 min.

It took me a while to figure out how to open the port range on my router that they recommended, and now it's been running good for the past 4 days.

My wife and I always play at the same times but her destination FFXIV IP is different, even though we are both on Midgardsormr. Months of playing at the exact same time, I've gotten disconnected hundreds of times, and she hasn't been disconnected once. And again, her route is the same as mine, only difference is the destination IP on FFXIV side that is different. My FFXIV server endpoint is 204.2.229.93, and my wife's is 204.2.229.87, but both go through the same path, including the 204.2.229.234 node.

Every time I disconnect, I run tracert via WinMTR and every time... it shows packets dropped on the FFXIV server side. These dropped packets may have nothing to do with it, but I'm trying to gather as much data as possible.

Since patch 5.2, i get booted out of the game with no lag spikes or anything. Even during streams, where i play with the minimum delay, the game simply kicks me. I tried different characters, but no bueno. Decided to just drop and resub if this ever gets fixed. Up until last week, everything was working fine, with some crashes here and there, but nothing out of ordinary, now i cant get into a dungeon/raid and i get dc'd.

Mine coincided with 5.2 patch as well. I've played for years since ARR came out, with no issues, now all of a sudden it's unplayable.

Still experiencing 90001, 90002, and 10105 today. None of those fixes worked.
