So, how about those half siblings of Zenos?

I was scrolling through social media and ran across someone pointing out that Zenos has siblings. I then used the search function and saw this was asked about in a thread to be asked of Oda-san, but I also don't think this ever was asked. So, what does everyone think happened to said siblings? Do we think he killed them? Or that they died during either Varis's fight for the throne or during the fighting after Zenos killed Varis? Of course there is also room that they just forgot about the blurbs about these siblings.

Now I'm personally calling them half siblings due to Zenos's mother dying some time shortly after his birth and that if there were legitimate heirs to the throne you'd think Varis would have chosen the more sane option(s). Unless by that time he had chosen to go along with the whole "Keep Garlemald an agent of Chaos" plan. Which would have meant Zenos would have been the only option.

Do you think they might have died while trying to flee with the rest of the royal family that we learn about in the side quests in Garlemald?

I don't remember any mention of siblings anywhere. Social media is not a very good source of lore and I've seen people just completely make stuff up and others spread it as if it's real.

A side-story from a compilation said that Zenos grew up completely alone, so even if he had theoretical half-siblings, they weren't raised with him and it doesn't matter in the end anyway.

There's two blurbs in the 2nd lore book. I went and found them to see if the images they posted were real. As it did come off strange that it's the only place where it's stated. So either it's an error in the book. Or he has siblings but has been forgotten.

What did it say in the lore book? All I could find is a mention of Zenos being "firstborn" but that doesn't necessarily mean there's others and later material established he was alone.

Page 47 says eldest. If he truly didn't have any siblings then why write it in such away? You also can have siblings, but not be raised with them. Haurchefant being an example.

Could be that they planned on a wider family tree behind the scenes until they realized they're not George RR Martin and decided to keep the Garlean plot more concise.

Or Varis could have had children outside of wedlock, but then they probably wouldn't matter much at all and their existence is meaningless unless there will be some future plot about descendants of Solus.

But I wouldn't bet gil on Zenos having siblings just because of two vague words in 1 book since there's no other mentions at all in the game or in other material.

The wording is very odd. "Firstborn" and "eldest son" instead of just son or only son. It's weird that they didn't mention any siblings in The Hunt Begins, though. Maybe he has dead siblings? Or ones that were separated from him at an early age? If we get more background on Zenos in the game we'll find out for sure, hopefully.

The thing I'm mostly wondering about is what happened to Nerva because they make no mention of whether he's dead or alive after the incident in the capital.

He was the only remaining heir to the throne that was actually documented in-game, so I'm loath to think he'd just get swept under the rug when we hadn't even seen his face yet.

With the role quest capstone being in Garlemald, I suspect that might be where we'll get answers to this one.
