Couldn't care less about how many plates we have. Doubling the glamour dresser is "nice" I guess? My dresser has been full for years and I have more than 400 more pieces stored on retainers right now...I'll fill that 800 up within minutes of it going live!
It's just a bandaid for a bad system, we NEED the Glamour Log. Them trying to expand this terrible system every few years isn't sustainable. They're adding more gear to the game every .x patch cycle... and likely more jobs in the future, which means EVEN MORE gear pieces... and the cycle of pain keeps getting worse and worse...

My Glamour Dresser is always at capacity so 800 slots are most welcome.
I can endure with 20 plates for now but I really hope they increase them to at least 1 plate per job. My ideal would be 2 or 3 plates per job so we could swap glamours back and forth.
A Glamour Dresser for private housing would be incredibly useful and more places to use the plates too.

It's an appreciated increase, but doesn't address the underlying problems.

My dresser has been full for over a year that 800 slots is a godsend for me as since even my retainers are full of glam I cant get more and it was depressing. Another reason I have been playing less honestly no glam to have fun with!
I need both, personally, so I'm glad they're adding both.
I'm sure they have access to player metrics that drive their decisions about what to add and when. I can only speculate that there was a genuine need for both or both would not be getting added at this time.

Honestly it’s still an improvement.
I am surely going to need more plates still, but I’m happy that 400/400 will no longer be my nightmare digits. That’s one less thing to worry about!

The way the devs talk about it suggests that it's actually quite hard for them to "make space" for expanding the dresser and plates, so – whether it's truth or bluff – it seems very unlikely that they would rush us from 15 to 30 plates at this rate. I just hope the expansion of accessibility in field zones doesn't cut down on the total number of plates the system can handle.
The extra 400 dresser slots will be much appreciated. I have a lot of pieces currently stored on retainers and it will be good to get them accessible and organised.
Beyond that, I also really hope they'll have a look at improving controller navigation for the dresser interface. There are a lot of points where it (and other recent menus) is very clunky and I suspect that it was only designed and tested with a mouse.
Honestly, I just would like a reason as to why. I'm really confused with how we have more than 30 jobs (if you include all of them) and they're planning on DOUBLING the glamour dresser...yet only increasing the plate count by 5? It doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm certainly not ungrateful for the increase, but I wish there was an explanation as to why they chose this route over something more equal...like dresser increase by 100 and plates by 10, at least. I mean, yeah, you can't please everyone but it seems as though making the increase a bit more even would have been a wiser choice?
*Edit, also my dresser is full too, lol. So I mean, yeah the doubling IS nice, but I do agree with OP. I would have preferred more plates.

I disagree. Total storage space seems more important to me than the number of plates.I wish there was an explanation as to why they chose this route over something more equal...like dresser increase by 100 and plates by 10, at least. I mean, yeah, you can't please everyone but it seems as though making the increase a bit more even would have been a wiser choice?
The dresser is a tool for storing and sorting the glamours I have collected. The more items I can have in it at once, and not squirrelled away in different retainers, the easier it is to browse my collection for assembling outfits.
My collection of plates usually contains a few different outfits for my main job/role, and then for the jobs I am currently levelling. Once they get to maximum level, I'm not playing and gearing up everything, so that plate can be dismantled and used for the next job.
Having a few more plates will be nice but it's not a priority over storage space.
