It's time to unlock Aether--it's overdue.

Good lord do I wish they'd unlock Aether and allow new characters to be made there/people to transfer in.

Queues are back to normal (they're better than they were last Summer, really) and the lockdown is starting to actively hurt the server.

There's almost no way to make money, no sprouts, FCs are shrinking because people have to transfer servers to play with IRL friends (it really stinks to lose great FC members because of this), etc.

It's really disheartening to see so much of the world empty because of how long this lockdown has gone on for. My FC is one of the top 5 on this server (Cactuar) and chat has been a total ghost-town in recent weeks because people are unsubbing due to content drought (which is normal) but the chat could be alive with eager sprouts asking questions.

You realize it's not about current pop too, but expected pop. When people come back. They need people to spread out.

So does that mean our data center should be one that's only allowed to be active during new patch releases because they won't let anyone else in ever? Because that's what we're currently dealing with, and as I said it doesn't create the best experience when people want to get their friends into the game and have to choose between staying in FCs with people they've gotten to know vs. switching to a different server to start their online circle all over again to play with friends they know in the real world.

And as I said it also really hurts the in-game economy.

Balmung was hardlocked for YEARS. This has been a couple months.
Also, datacenter travel will make that Moot soon anyway, you won't have to leave your fc to play with friends.

You'll get over it. And the in game economy fluctuates with patch releases anyway. There's tons of ways to make money. Maps, roulettes, etc. The game throws money at you.

"Limited" meaning the only content you can't do is content you can't do off your home world with standard world transfer now? Which they just announced in the live letter today?

Also, i don't know about you, but i've been enjoying the respite from RMT shouters.

What do you even need gil for, beyond 100k a day? It's not like there's much to buy lol. I've been sitting on 120ish mil for years now.

You can be frustrated, but SE will unlock it when they are ready, and no sooner.

I'm okay if they need to keep us locked for sake of stability. I don't want to go back to the days when we had Balmung and other servers still and we were crashing all the time.
