    Gil sink idea: ability to purchase gear from cleared dungeons

    Would it be viable to let people purchase gear from dungeons? Perhaps via the Calamity Salvager or a similar dedicated NPC whose stock is determined by your dungeon-clearing achievements. (We already have the "Mapping the Realm" achievements in place to support such an approach.)

    It seems like a potentially ongoing way to have players spend a fair amount of gil, mainly for glamour purposes. I'd certainly go for it.

    Make them expensive so it's not really viable to cash them in for GC seals, but for people with gil in hand and a need for a specific piece, they can choose to pay for it instead of running dungeons multiple times to acquire it – which would also cut down on how many other income-generating items (sellable items, gear, tomes) are created out of thin air by the act of running a dungeon.

    I think a problem of the game is that every activity tends to generate currency almost as a side effect of what you're actually after, but there's very little reason to channel it back into the game. At most you're buying things off other players (crafted from materials they gathered for free, made with tome-purchased items or won from a gil-generating treasure hunt) and only a portion of funds gets taken out of circulation that way.

    Man, if it makes it so I don't have to keep running Ivalice for the friggin aiming tops I'm all for it lol. I only level up alt classes for glam purposes anyways so I'm 100% for this idea. End game XIV is essentially glam anyways

    I don't know if this is a bad or good idea.
    The good side is it gives something to the glamour community
    The bad side is causing some content to have less players.

    Trusts are a thing. Honestly the quality of players just running things for glam/tomes/X objective is abysmal.

    Those are the folk being all toxic and hateful because someone dared to waste 5 seconds looking at the scenery and will pull while people going through the MSQ for the first time are watching the boss cutscene because they can't wait 10 seconds.

    I prefer to have a few meaningful experiences with other players than have a ton of trash experiences with people who really don't want to be there but they have to because theyre farming something.

    I'd love this for the non leveling dungeons. Or even if its not a fixed, always available store, have a rotating store similar to the mogtome ones would still be an improvement.

    The main issue with this line of thinking is assuming that people would even hard queue dungeons to farm dungeon drops at this point.
    For pretty much every dungeon SB or less, you can unsync 1 or 2 man and clear quicker than in DF.
    For SHB dungeons+, trusts exist that allow you to get instant queues anytime on any job, and also are better for farming purposes since you can't get outrolled by anyone else if you're say, playing a BRD and that MCH swipes the Pagl'than chestpiece from ya on a 93 to your 92.

    Anyone serious about farming glamours efficiently isn't doing it through the DF already. A decision like this would only bring benefits.

    That's basically what I was going to say -- make a permanent, year-round version of the Moogle Treasure Trove event with a cycling selection of gear sets you can buy for special tomestones. If we want to keep the gil sink aspect of it then some gil can also be required to buy the gear. You have to use Duty Finder, and you can't use unsync.

    This would also allow the devs to dynamically set the rewards for the content that needs players in it, or just switch it up for funsies.

    I would rather use Poetics for that, personally. There's certainly a point in the expac where you just have an overabundance of the things.

    On that note, it'd be nice if the cap on Poetics could go up to 4 or 5 thousand...

    Leveling dungeons already have bad luck protection but this would be great for level cap dungeon gear. Leaving leveling gear of this would also ensure that crafted leveling gear doesn't become unnecessary.

    Maybe 100k per piece? It's low enough to be affordable after just 2 days of roulettes if you really want something, but high enough that people might try farming first.
