Still better than WoW with their 6 month - 1 year cycle.

Yup the 10 years plan was a 3 expansions plan instead of 4/5 all along.
I can see why they widen the gap between expansion but in the other hand i wish they chosed to put 3 more major patch to fill it instead of just spreading content so thin you can barely see it.
I wouldn't be that pessimistic but it's very likely 7.x will be 3 years and 8.x will be 3 years as well. Which pretty much means the 10 years plan will at best cover a bit of 9.0.
If you average it out Summer 2024 will mean last year and half was a 6 month patch cycle. 6.3 Jan to 7.0 will be close to or over 18 months. Or if we give them the benefit of the doubt and go back to ARR to Dawntrail they have averaged 5 months a patch.

Or the 'exactly 77 days between patches' they managed with Legion
People like to just point at Siege lasting 14 months and go 'haha see wow bad', it's like they've been tempered by this game
And always funny seeing how the biggest white knights disappear and quitFriggin THIS! Like ok, Im still here trying to get some wanted relics, finish Eureka, grind my jobs and I dont necessarily have the time to play this game everyday 24/7
Good for the people who managed to consume all the current content and finished all their other grinds, but for the majority of us that take our time due to legit reasons, Im all for the current endgame content sparse in FFXIV.
If we got a big patch with decent content every 4 months, nobody would complain.
Look at WoW, 6 month patch cycle for big patches, but in the last 6 months players got 2 new maps, new delves, quests, mounts, minions, class changes + the events like Valentine's Day where you could get tons of great items for weeks, WoW birthday with many more items and even more events. Overall, players had a lot to do.
Not like Final Fantasy... here's your patch after 4+ months and now after all that waiting, enjoy 1 new dungeon, 1 trial or 3-4 bosses of a raid, 3-5 new MSQ quests, at least one of which starts with "Talk to Wuk Lamat". Add to that a few minions, 1-2 mounts, and with a lot of luck some glamour that you get in the game and not in the item shop.
And we won't even get started on the boring 5 minute events. Of course I forgot about the new tribe or Cosmos Exploration, which could just as easily have been called Moon Exploration. When I thought of Cosmos I was thinking more of Ultima Thule and not the moon with the Loporrits. It makes little sense to split so little content into 3-4 months to stretch it out. The content left the room after just a few hours, ladies and gentlemen. And that has to change.
Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!
