This is a bad take. Why ask for a new expansion? Can't you just play ARR again for 10 years? Why would you ever want something new you haven't played before to be provided. Crazy am I right?I'm sincerely asking this: for those who want to grind and gain progression with repeatable content, if you've done all the weapon grinds, etc, can't you start an alt and do it again? Numbers would go up, checklists would be completed. If the grind is the point for you, wouldn't that work? Assuming you want to play and not just take a break and grind in another game, of course.
This is the logic used against people asking for things here. Wow.

People seem like they're after the grind, not necessarily something new to do, while waiting for the new stuff to do that comes with new patches. If the grinding and achieving the goal is what someone wants, and they still want to play FF14 but they've finished their grinding already, then an alt isn't a horrible way to give yourself something to do while waiting for the new stuff, is it? Alt Eureka grind for every weapon alone should tide someone over btwn patches for a while.
Alternatively, on a main, progging ultimates, criterions, etc? Like, seriously, there is plenty of involved and grindy stuff to do in the game if you want it. And you can always just start an alt and do it again if you've really finished all of it.

I mean I see what you are trying to reason. But I just think the fundamental understanding here is not correct. People here seem to be after something new to do and would welcome something grindy or repeatable to keep them entertained. I don't see many people looking to grind old content for grinds sake. If that were the case, then sure, that would be a viable solution. It's not what I want, and if I'm reading the room correctly it's not what most people want either.People seem like they're after the grind, not necessarily something new to do, while waiting for the new stuff to do that comes with new patches. something along the lines of Bozjan / Zadnor are very good examples. They are challenging, Give great rewards, and the XP is good. People still do them but anyone that played during Shadow Bringers would be sick of it.I mean I see what you are trying to reason. But I just think the fundamental understanding here is not correct. there are lots of things to grind in the Sothern front but at some point you do get to a point it is mundane. Even going back on a new character it is easy b/c you already know the best way to do everything, and the mechs the bosses will use.
Deep dungeons are a challenge of sorts but get very boring quickly because all of them are the same tactics, and they come with the down side you can't just AFK to take short breaks while zone base grinds you can.
Personally i wish they did something along the lines of Bozjan/Zadnor, sadly though Deep Dungeons are much easier to make from a developer stand point.
Along with Story wise, the only place that would make any sense would be in the void, b/c everyone is still recovering from End of Days on Hydaelyn
Square Enix told us they are updating old content, and adding in QoL on top of developing 7.0 so they are likely spread to thin to really develop a ton for End Game content.
