Better to have content released more slowly than content coming out on time but woefully incomplete. Besides, the four month cycle means we get to actually enjoy our gear a little bit instead of having it immediately replaced by the next tier.

Yes because those 2 pieces of content were the only pieces of content to ever be released. But if we're on point. Boy, I sure did love their several failed attempts at trying to force Diadem down peoples' throats. Despite players making it abundantly clear that they did not like it.

I mean, the original post was to laugh at the fact that someone said that SE is slowing down for polish while those that have been here for a while have seen less and less polish in the game while at the same time we are getting less and less content per patch. Also, that live letter where they wheeled out the big chart to show how much the game has grown was funny. Half of the list was "more dialogue and story", i'm sorry but bragging about a lot of words in a video game is the equivalent of a high school paper that is double spaced and full of padding. Sure, it's a lot of paper but you only have around 7-9 sentences per paper. Some say we are getting quality over quantity but I say we are getting neither.

They can slow down for whatever reason they wish, to be frank. As it stands this expansion stands to release the most variety in content. Whether said content actually meets the bar of what players would deem interesting is an entirely different argument. They've had many failed attempts at trying to push content in the past. E.g. Diadem in HW. I don't even want to know how much time and resources they've wasted just trying to force it onto people.

Equally, bragging about the number of dungeons is just as much of a vein effort. Beyond the 1-time experience people encounter with them people then only really grow to treat them as a means to an end for players getting their weekly tome cap for gear upgrades. Given the other areas of content we've seen such as DR/DRS, Dalriada, and Castrum Lacus Litore, Ocean Fishing and Ishgard Restoration, I find it a fairly good trade-off. Depends entirely on the scope of what you actually deem content and what you do not.

The issue with this game isn't really the amount of content have (nor the quality of it, personally - But that's subjective). It's just the simple fact that they've elected to take a route of designing content which for many intents and purposes could be deemed as one off experiences with very little replay value, and the key here is the replay value. There's very little point in them just going far and wide with their content if they cannot nail that down, at the very least.

And as someone who is giving them money for a product I can point out obvious faults, to be frank. At the end of the day, it's their ball so they can do whatever they want with it. People also don't like to play with those that don't listen, ask WoW next door.

You would realistically have a point if the end result gap was actually greater than 2 weeks, but at this point it's arguing for the sake of arguing. Their content release cycle has already been between 112-119 days which puts it just 1-2 weeks behind what their newly announced schedule actually is. That just making a mountain out of a molehill. But hey, that's your prerogative.

If it's going to be something where they elect to take liberties with more and more time, then sure. But as it stands a 2 weeks extension to their schedule is perfectly reasonable. Regardless of your own personal feelings.
