You must be new to the game.
FFXIV is kinda designed for you to unsub in content droughts. It's not like WoW that is made to always keep you entertained by itself, at least ever since ShB started that's been the case. They don't make a lot of content at endgame in this game, and most of the playerbase has just accepted it at this point.
I wish there was more, but it's a dead horse at this point. FFXIV just has nothing to do after a point.
OP is not new. But he knows how to bait this forum (yes i know, I also fell for his bait)You must be new to the game.

I'm fine with this because I support a little bit more QoL for our Devs as far as their actual everyday working lives go.
I'm fine with this because I don't think it's the job of any one game to keep me entertained every single day of my life for years on end.
I'm fine with this because I have interests outside of FFXIV, and I don't really get FoMo with FFXIV if I want to do something else.
I'm fine with this as I already consume content slowly so I always feel like I have a lot of options for activities while I am subbed, and I simply can unsub when I've done what I want to do in game.
I think people super upset at this need to get some RL perspective and balance in their lives.
I think that is an excuse the devs like to use in place of "we are lazy and we are just going to follow this simple patch cycle repeatedly."You must be new to the game.

I think people that get upset over this, want something for the $15 they have been paying / are currently paying.

Or yknow, they could just have housing be instanced. That way we also wouldn’t be tied to such a limited item decoration limit, but because Yoshi P sama doesn’t like it we can’t have itYou’re aware that this is necessary, right? The housing wards would be awful right now if the original buyers were never subject to auto demolition. Imagine how many plots would be abandoned because someone acquired a house and stopped playing. Imagine how much gatekeeping would occur when someone willing to decided to vacate a plot.
This game doesn’t exist just for the people that play it when they add content but also exists for people that might return or start as a new player. No housing demolition means it would be an entire gameplay system that belongs to ARR-era players and nobody else. I appreciate the initial intentions they had in not wanting an auto demolition but the downside to that is absolutely terrible quality of life, especially when the player base is much larger than it was in ARR.
In terms of content, i think this game severely lacks it, especially when we got less stuff on release. Literally skipping us out on dungeon gear now, and also reusing gear still while also still not making it dyable. Each expansion it’s just more and more downgrades while the game makes more and more money. Now the patches will be taking even longer. It’s a small increase but it’s an increase nonetheless, which having that on top of the massive delay we had for this expansion it’s just… a slap in the face to put it bluntly. People say play other games but that’s not an excuse for it. It’s just a deflection to the problem. People said the same thing about shb and look at that. No hildibrand. No deep dungeons. Cut down dungeons, no allied beasts tribes etc.
Then quit. If you're not happy with the game; leave. Go do anything else. Find something that'll make you happy enough that you don't constantly complain about optional past time activities.
Adorable creatures with unacceptable features!
This is a horrible way to act to criticism. The whole point of the forums is to give criticism. Trying to gatekeep and deny that is this community’s biggest flaw. You don’t have to agree with peoples takes but please for the love of god stop hiding behind the “just unsub, don’t play the game.” A lot of people critique the game because they want to see it improved. With how much money the game makes, we’re allowed to share our opinions.
You are getting access to the entire game and new content, 2 weeks slower. If that's not good enough for you, unsub.
And here we have the Devs saying they are tired of crunch and for whatever reason they are slowing down updates slightly to give some level of rest to their team. This is a huge problem in this industry and players can be insatiable, consume content immediately and never be satisfied. Not much you can do with that staying in a budget. This is a horrible way to act to criticism. The whole point of the forums is to give criticism. The Devs themselves said it's okay to unsub when your done with the content. A person here saying the same thing is in alignment with the Devs for what they decided is best for their employees and their game.
