Better than WoW with 1 year content droughts.What are players who aren't going to do Ultimate do for four months in 6.1?
1. Do the alliance raid, which probably takes 1-2 hours to complete on day 1.
2. Do the Tataru and Hildebrand quests which take 2 hours judging by previous instances.
3. Do the new extreme trial which takes like 2-4 hours to clear.
4. Waste 5 mins every day on beast tribes, and waste 3 mins every week on custom delivery.
Congratulations that's all you have for 4 months. $60 in subscription fees. That's even less than what you get from the typical AAA single player title.
With this little content they should be accelerating patch delivery, not slowing it down.

I simply do as Yoshi-P himself suggested. I play other games. I have a massive amount of things to do in FF14 that I want to do but haven't yet. I have no need to rush though.
I've been playing Nier: Replicant, SMT3, Pokémon Legends Arceus, Pokémon Shining Pearl, Final Fantasy 2 PR. Games not named FF14 exist after all.

I'm not fine with it. I wasn't fine with 3.5 months either. At this rate expansions will be every 3 years
8.0
Love how everyone thought it was an overreaction and it's totally not a slippery slope back in 2022 BTWAs a side note, cycles aren't even 4 months. Except for 6.1, so far they have been always significantly longer than the promised 4 months. 6.3 took over 4.6 months.
Releases:
6.0 - 7.12.2021
6.1 - 12.4.2022
6.2 - 23.8.2022
6.3 - 10.1.2023
6.4 - 23.5.2023
4 months ~= 121.5 days if we want to be pedantic
Cycles:
6.0-6.1 => 126 days = 4.14 months
6.1-6.2 => 133 days = 4.37 months
6.2-6.3 => 140 days = 4.60 months
6.3-6.4 => 133 days = 4.37 months
Average so far = 133 days = 4.37 months
"The major patch cycle cadence will be adjusted. Previously, it was 1 major patch every 3.5 months. Going forward it will be one major patch every four months. Roughly two weeks longer."
Adding extra 2.5 weeks to what is supposed to be 2 weeks is too rough in my opinion.![]()

Denizens of the deceased thread, from ink of blackest night, I summon you! Come revive this thread!
I am aware that the quote comes from high seraph, I like Athena more, ok?
All jokes aside, reading back through this thread reminds me of how it's funny that no matter how things change, some things will always stay the same.

Sadly what's not staying the same is the patch delivery scheduleDenizens of the deceased thread, from ink of blackest night, I summon you! Come revive this thread!

We're literally in the 4.5-month era now.
Where are all the people who cried that this was a slippery slope fallacy? Come out and prostrate yourself in front of me and apologize.
Gee, it would have been real nice if someone had warned us that this would happen. It's a darn shame that absolutely no one ever in the history of the world said that we'd be getting 4.5 month patches next. Positively no one did. Definitely not. Absolutely no one.
There are no 4.5 patches in Ba Sing Se.

You could always take a break between patches if you're not having fun.
Of course, taking a break means you lose access to the forums while you're unsubbed. What will you do with your time when you're not makingtroll"hot takes" threads all day?
Another 2 weeks isn't going to kill you.
I'd rather the devs have some extra time so they don't have to worry about crunch or burn out. They are probably already stressed enough as it is trying to meet schedules.
