They also, incidentally, need to more discretely categorize certain things both in the combat log and in floating combat text. Currently, damage from DoTs and pets are categorized in the same group as damage from literally every single source other than you. You cannot see your own DoT damage ticks without also seeing every single damage event from every single other party/alliance member. There also isn't, that I know of, an easy what to filter out all of the floating combat text around buff gains and losses on party members. Yes, I just cast Arcane Circle, I'm aware that EVERY SINGLE PARTY MEMBER just gained that buff, thanks. I don't need to see "+Arcane Circle" 8 times on my screen.

Most events in the combat log just say "X took Y damage!". Great, from what? Who was the caster/damage source, what was the name of the ability or effect? What was the damage type (though there aren't a ton of damage-type-specific mechanics, they do still exist, notably in Feint and Addle, but also DRK cooldowns)? Can we get
millisecond precision in the combat log? Right now it doesn't even have second precision, it's literally just hour and minute. There's no combat log event indicating gaining or losing stacks of a buff/debuff you already have, or refreshing one.

The combat log in this game needs so much TLC, imo, and floating combat text is right up there with it. We need to have a better feedback mechanism for combat events.
