I agree with OP

Players of FFXIV are very selfish and gear focused, they want easy mode as opposed to normal/hard mode. and if there isnt a strategy or a fight takes several attempts to get the strategy right they quit after the first few wipes.

Not everyone is like this, but a whole lot are.

REASON

WOW ruined MMO's for old school MMO players and brought a lot of single player players to the MMO world.

Single player play style = whats in it for me

Old school = Lets see if we can beat x today or have a damn good time trying, when we get the win its euphoric.
