WoWs playerbase declined because of multiple issues. The first issue is always borrowed power systems and locking power behind covenants and legendaries that cost hundreds of thousand of gold in order to have a functional character. I shouldn’t have to buy $80 in tokens to buy something for my character to be relevant. The other is Raid or Mythic+ only mentality for the entire game. For pvp players are punished for not doing rated pvp. The whole game caters to maybe 5% of the games entire population. How many people actually like pushing keys and losing a key because someone d/c or leaves? They added valor currency only for people who raid or do mythic + but put it in callings so casuals can buy 20 pieces of leather lol? 9.2 might bring some people back for a few weeks, but with the addition of double legendaries, tier sets, and grinding out the new vault sockets, people will burn out and leave. The weekly vault is a chore and half the time doesn’t have upgrades at all.
