    "Request Mend" Option and other QoL for DoH.

    There should be an option to Request Mending from other players like you have to Request Meld, it would be interesting seeing a lot of players usually level all crafters. and you may say we have NPC that you can repair in every city, which is a valid point but when you self repair you up the durability to 200%, which is very nice.

    Would be nice but it would reduce the flow of gils going "out" of the game, while they are trying to increase this same flow (no more reduction on taxes when buying on the market board according to the city, enhanced tp prices at each expansions and so on...).

    Not exactly, the Fee is only optional, you can totally just set to 0 and people can accept if they want. the problem is more whether you are using yours or the crafters' Dark Matter but even if this is implemented I doubt people would just stop using the mender npcs all together.

    Yeah I wasn't mentioning the players to players fees, these are gils that will still circulate in the game. It was rather the fact that more people would ask one another for repairs leading to lessened popularity of npcs.
    Repairing gears yourself gives the advantage of increased durability. If players are allowed to repairs someone else's gear there is no doubt they'd rather use this than the npcs, hence leading to a decrease in gils going out of the game. They wouldn't completely stop using npcs, but providing a third way would still have an impact.

    I feel things like teleport fees and market board fees are fine, because they don't affect how those features function.

    Withholding QoL in order to force a gil sink is poor game design though. Fees and sinks are fine, but shouldn't result in game features having reduced functionality or be removed.

    "Request mend" should absolutely be a thing.

    Seeing how repairing your own gear also takes gil out of the game since it needs dark matter (granted, can be bought with other currencies, too) I dont see how a "Request Mend" option couldnt also take gil out of the game by requiring one of the two people to use up the needed dark matter?

    It's still cheaper to buy dark matter than repairing to an npc.
    Again, I'm not against the idea, on the contrary I'd also like such a feature because it would be very handy. Only stating why they might be reticent to implement that, as they are trying through every little ways to remove gils, even the smallest of ways. Which isn't something I condon either.

    but if that is the case then we wouldn't even have "request meld" system, forcing everyone to level their crafters is way better into sinking gil then have that option.

    Menders npcs have always been here, but materia melders were only added during HW, before that you had to unlock melding yourself or request them that's why the function is there.
    On another note, they are only in cities whereas menders are everywhere. That's because you need to repair often so big gil sink, meanwhile melding is only once on a gear set and the npcs can't overmeld.

    What about it, it's not like they aren't repurposing content in the game from ARR or had errors since beta around being fixed the only thing I can get from your take is that you want that especific system out so only crafters can pentameld their own gear.
