a good start for me personally would be
200 more slots for L
100 more slots for M
50 more slots for S/apartment

I pop this topic because I just won a large house in lottery and didn't knew about this struggle about item limitation, I knew it on Medium, but Large houses are really a pain to decorate because the item/space ratio doesn't match at all with the other sizes.
I feel that I could do cutest stuff in my small house. I will need to cover floors to make it look appealing, and that's sadvery sad.
Large is definitely the worst. All houses, especially indoors need to be increased by a lot and something needs to be done to increase the interactive limit from 40 so items don't disappear. Perhaps a way to make them not interactive so they render properly.
I'd love 50-100 more slots for small
200 limit is not acceptable.
I don't want more slots. I have a hell of a time placing just 100.
I think a lot of item limit problems could be alleviated if we didn't need so many items to make rooms and sections. Instead of having to use 20 marble walls to make a marble room, maybe we could just get really long walls so using 4 was enough. The same goes for lofts, fences, half partitions and stairs.
Well...generally the idea was 100 per floor.I pop this topic because I just won a large house in lottery and didn't knew about this struggle about item limitation, I knew it on Medium, but Large houses are really a pain to decorate because the item/space ratio doesn't match at all with the other sizes.

The problem is that your FOOTAGE drastically increases.
My advice is to decide what floor to give up in the large.
The upstairs is usually the best to give up because those natural walls can be a pain to work around; alternatively you can give up the basement because its a MASSIVE rectangle of space that can be tricky to fill in; but also gives you the most build freedom.
I'm 100% with you!I think a lot of item limit problems could be alleviated if we didn't need so many items to make rooms and sections. We definitely need different wall sizes and shapes.
I run into the issue of there aren't enough smaller walls & the only ones that are the size I need, are slanted & have a window on the other side which I don't want. On top of that, the slanted walls can't even be lifted by glitching. There is 1 curved wall but it goes with the marble set & doesn't even correctly match the other marble walls.
You hit the nail on the head with this- There aren't enough of different types of lofts. The ones we do have are made of cheap looking wood because of the weird shine they give off. There's 1 that is made of stone but If someone just wants pretty ceiling tiles or glass ceilings, or distressed aged looking wood or even arched ceilings- it's simply not there.
As far as Stairs go, those are the most limited. You get plain wooden stairs with no railing, you can get some spiral stairs that would only fit a modern house & the stairs can only be used when not glitched.
Then there's the metal rusted stairs that are more of something I'd want, but you can't even change the material so you're stuck with rusted metal. I did however get ahold of the stone stairs & they dye very well & hope to see a spiral or curved version of them that can be used at any height.
Whoever is in charge of what goes into house decorating, I think is the same person who has done island sanctuary because they missed the mark there too.

I really hope this will happen at some point. They already did it once, doubling the amount of furnishings for every size of decoratable interior.
While probably more difficult to achieve, the same goes for gardens - even more so. Most gardens look very empty, and it is clearly something devs are aware of, seing how their housing skins tend to fill in some of the empty space.
