More slots for housing items please oh please oh please please please

I lovelovelove almost all of the new decorations that have been introduced with Endwalker. Love them. There is more than enough room to put them in my house but no, because my item limit is capped and has been. I am forced between choosing which little knick-knacks make it in and which do not. Do I put the broom cleaning things in the corner? Or the wastebucket? WHY can I not have BOTH? The new food item from the last festival or the fluffy pancakes and coffee? Why not all of them? There is room on the table!!!

And I hate that our FC large is this barren emptiness since we refuse to block off entire floors. We worked so very hard, sat at every plot, pooled our money, woke up super early to even GET a large and it holds fewer than the amount of items a medium should have.

My recommendation? Small is acceptable at 200, Medium ought to be 550, and a large 1000.

    We can hope.

If the budget to network traffic (that affects everyone in the game) allows the loading of 1000 items efficiently whenever someone enters their home. Absolutely.

But if someone entering their home was to cause lag to a Savage, because it's tying up the network, it's likely not a great idea.

Rough guestimate of data... Item ID, 64 bits. Pos X, 16 bits, Pos Y, 16 bits, Pos Z, 16 bits, Rotation, 32 Bits, Dye, 16 bits - 20 bytes... 1000 items, 20,000 bytes - TCP/IP packet size normally 1500 bytes - so 14 packets. Likely no problem is just one person enters a large home. But what if it's a RP venue and a lot enter?

I'd love more. I hope SE decide the network traffic budget allows it! *crosses my fingers they can squeeze it in without lagging others*

People have been asking for this since... Well, ever since housing I bet.

So far, as already stated - we can only dream!

Only house type that really need ahuge upgrade in spacesis large, due to they are like 3 ex the size of a medium if not more..... then a bit more minor for medium and... and a little one for small.

When our fc mansion is completely filled with items it makes people lag inside...so it may not yet be the time for a space upgrade. At least not until things are smooth for everyone with the current maximum.

Since the overworld graphics update is supposed to allow them to place more debris/nick-nacks out in the world, it might stand to reason that it'll increase housing item space. One would think/hope/pray/sacrifice to Zodiark

How does increasing the number of items you can put into a Large house solve the 'barren emptiness' in your large FC? Does your FC have several designers? Or are you implying you've already hit the limit on the large house? And how does blocking off entire floors solve that problem?

I'm always amazed at the ability of players to make their homes into a marvel to behold despite the current limitations. I won't begrudge the desire to use more items. Since housing is located on other servers than the ones used for battle and main story, it may just require more bandwidth and/or CPU cycles. Or, perhaps, the limitations are due to the amount of network traffic to consoles, since they have more limitations than PCs.

The housing item slots do need to go up, but not to 1000. I think that is way too much because it will cause load times to be excessively slow and the lag.

I've done instance housing before and unlimited housing items for them. The instances where huge and the more items we put in them the more horrendous the lag was and loading into them was a toss of the dice whether you crashed or not.

I get why SE limits the number of items on the exterior, but 20 items is just too small. And for interior the current number is not enough, but you don't know what you asking when you say 1000 slots. It's a crash waiting to happen.

The graphical upgrades SE plans will happen over time. Maybe at some point they can allocate a reasonable number of slots to housing items for each size house. We can only hope and speculate.

Depending on what type of furnishings and themes one comes up with, it is possible to "fill" a large estate's item cap in just one "small" room.
If one decorates as such, then all the other areas of a large estate would be barren aka empty.
To get around that, some will wall off or block off the empty areas, so they are out of sight/out of mind, but as Eretria said, their FC didn't want them to do that.... so ultimately it is a "wasted" of space.
If item amount caps were lifted, then one could still follow the theme they wanted for a "small" room, but still furnish the rest of the estate, thus solve the problem with Eretria's FC and likely many many many many others (self included)

Yes, we have hit it. We hit it with just decorating one floor (originally had a very lovely waterfall for the centerpiece stairs) and an amazing library with ladders and walkways...but yeah, those are both gone. I hadn't realized more things caused lag, though I guess it's obvious if you think about it. I hadn't noticed a difference between empty and full, but larges are just so VERY large, it is difficult to make them look pretty if you utilize all floors.
