No Update for Character Creator / Cuztomization?..

I'll be honest, I was pretty disappointed when Yoshi-P didn't address anything cosmetic related for FFXIV. BE ADVISED, I am not undermining the Graphics Update. This is huge and we have needed it for a long time and I'm so happy they're doing this.

A few people did warn that the fan base has been asking for character creator updates and NPC hairstyles, longer hairstyles, etc for a long time. I don't really understand why they're avoiding this when so many people have been asking and for years? Will they talk about it in a later live letter maybe?

As mentioned in past posts, updating their dye system wouldn't hurt either but I've also heard that might not be possible with their engine or whatever they use to run the mmorpg. But, I've been playing the heck out of Lost Ark lately and THEIR DYE SYSTEM IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I live for being able to dye almost every part of an outfit. That's one thing I loved about Guild Wars 2.

I would love to see:

• Horns separated from Aura faces. (This has been widely asked for many times)
• Hair styles separated from Hrothgar faces. (This is new but a fair request)
• Longer hairstyles. (The megathread has many wonderful ideas and requests)
• More NPC Hairstyles. (Also been asked by a lot of people for years, included in the megathread)
• More beard options!
• Change eyebrow color separate from hair color
• Adding more Hair/Skin/Dye colors. (They have already added some dye colors so I'm hoping they will add more in the future)
• Dye outfits in sections completely
• Butt sliders would be a great plus

I love this game, and I love how much work the devs and the team put into creating this game.. but the fact he talked about the next 10 years and didn't even graze anything about improving the customization of the game was a little disappointing. I understand these posts are very repetitive but our pleas are not being answered T_T

They can only do so many things at a time. They are working on female hrothgar and the graphics update in addition to all of the patches at the moment.

Not really adding too much but I'd definitely like more wrinkles/age adding features to the game, hey if Rurusha can have wrinkles why can't we? Full on beards for Lalas also would be nice lol. Not all of us Lalas want to look spry young chickens : (

But either way, it could come up next LL which I believe is March 4th, but until then I'd like them to focus on fixing the races already there as Hrothies and Vieras are constantly in a state of suffering before adding on more in addition to female hrothgar + graphic updates

I mean we're all aware they have a lot on their plate right now but she has a point. Maybe he's waiting to surprise us lol

More wrinkles would be awesome, everyone looks so young , the only "older" characters I see sometimes are the rare male cats that use the old grumpy face (which I love btw). I agree, I think they should worry more about completing the new races first and then update the character creator for the older races, but I'm just surprised he didn't mention anything.

But seriously though, on my end I would like for some skin color options shared among race tribes. Like I would love to have a Sea Wolf but with the reddish skin tones of the Hellsguard, or I guess in simpler terms, may the ashen tip of their noses be a removable thing for them please?

Maybe the character creation update is part of the graphical update? No point in working on additions if said additions are going to get a graphical update in a short period.

Upgrading the models is a totally separate thing to upgrading the system that stores the character data recording your customisation choices.

Improving the number of things you can customise on your character is not directly a graphics update. The character is built according to the same instructions whether they are low-quality or high-quality models.

If I am given the option I always make a Meryl Steep type character a la Devil Wears Prada. This is my ideal caster/mage look, and probably why I barely touch DoM in this game. It does not fit the vibe I desire.
