Could Amaurot be made into housing???

Just a thought, I keep coming back to Amaurot. I feel that this BEAUTIFUL city is wasted, so much work went into the creation of this both developer, story and of course Emet'Selch. Maybe in future updates make Amaurot a new housing area. I know that people love the city, but never have any reason to go back.

Unfortunately, it's not possible for several reasons. It's nothing but a gigantic magical glamour Emet laid over the ruins of the original, so it was never actually meant to be a real functioning city (it was to make a point to the WoL, and also allow Emet to surround himself in the memories of the world he lost). Most if not all the buildings and towers in it are simply solid blocks or empty shells made up to look like actual buildings.

And, as the ending to ShB stated, those incantations are not everlasting, they will eventually start to wind down and so the glamour will vanish (although gameplay wise this is guaranteed never to occur).

Not to mention as EW has showed, it wasn't an entirelly accurate rendition of what the real Amaurot was like 12000 years ago, but instead more an idealized 'theme park' version, most notably with how the Ancients themselves were depicted. So alas a housing area for it is not possible.

Hence instead I'm hoping we'll see more future content in the actual Unsundered World, which hopefully may even include a visit to the real Amaurot (and who knows, maybe housing may be possible there). But I'm just making a lot of wish assumptions so don't mind me.

Not trying to be negative, but why even bother? Amaurot is beautiful because everything is authenthic. Since people can build their own houses, imagine some japanese style or moogle houses in the midst of the gloomy and serene atmosphere. Sound good? xD

Not everything needs a gameplay reason to go back to it. It can just exist for its own very spoilery sake - putting housing there would mean FC houses and newbies getting a shortcut there, which spoils the surprise for them even if they don't have access to the context.

Good point Iscah, the entrance to Amaurot was STUNNING. Still would be a nice place for apartments of different natures. FC penthouses It is such a beautiful city and I will continue to go back from time to time.

I would love a place there or an apartment. Heck I'll take furnishings/walls etc to go with the lamps to fit out an apartment.

To varying degrees, yes – but neither of them are currently in the running beyond fans asking for them.

Still, the Crystarium is only a spoiler for the basic premise of Shadowbringers, not its climax, and Garlemald... I can't really see us getting housing there. I think if they ever did do Garlean housing it would be set somewhere away from the ruined capital entirely.

I wish they'd do more with apartments. I don't see why they need to be coupled directly to a housing district. Apartments could be placed in different cities not currently supporting a ward housing area. Furthermore these could be modified versions including different size options which would be wonderful.
