It's nice to gloat ... just a little.

I guess it is not nice to brag, but sometime a little gloating if worth it.
Has more than a few co-workers this morning talk about how angry they were about the login issues surrounding a “popular single-player game, which can be played multiplayer, but requires you to login regardless” game which shall not be named. They sat there will the wee hours of the morning trying to get in. Meanwhile in Eorzea I ding’ed 30 as a Thaumaturge, got my Goobbue, started leveling Pugilist (Black Mage here I come!), and basically had a great time.

I am sure the previously mentioned game which shall not be named is a load of fun and I don’t mean to bash it in any way, but the more I play FFXIV the better it seems to get.

I'm not sure you should be proud of the fact that this game has under 20k players while their game was so popular that they overloaded the authentication servers.

EDIT: Also, FFXIV suffered through the same thing on release day. It's not avoidable.

I guess I am not proud that the game only has 20k subs, not sure how you got that out of my post, but my apologies if I worded it in that way. Just glad the game is fun and, at least for one day, I was able to detail just how fun I find it to other people who were grumpy they could not play their game.

I thought it would be nice to share with the community, but again, I may have been mistaken.

I had more fun in "that game" for the 4 hours I got play it before work than I did in the nearly 2 years I have been playing this game. Just saying.

As long as you had fun and others were denied fun in another game that is unrelated, that's all that matters.

Also worth noting... this game has login issues when it was first released / new patches too. Those are equivalent in my mind, so I'm not sure what you're "gloating" about.

This is why I went to bed early instead of waiting up trying to log into said game. I imagine 2.0 will bring similar issues for us here.
