Post-LL Interview: MSQ Abolish: Castrum and Praetorium to Leveling

Yoshida did a post-Live Letter interview and this stood out in particular. While it'll be the condensed 4-man equivalent, if the cut scenes remain unskippable. That is... going to be interesting.

The MSQ roulette will probably be abolished and the new 4-man dungeons will be suitable for levelling. What will happen with the Gaius fight is a “spoiler” he can’t talk about yet. The mechanic of riding the Magitek armour in Praetorium will be completely changed.

Why say that? They don't raise it in the quote at all, and "suitable for levelling" seems to imply the opposite.

It sounds like it'll be reduced down to a normal dungeon.

Or have a run where everyone makes egg puns the entire time. I love how chill Prae runs are. When we have good convo going, it feels like we're hurrying the gameplay parts so we can get back to our chat.

I enjoy prae for it's chattiness. While most other dungeons are very silent, Prae is a nice chatty place where people just let their hair down.

I will miss it for that. Outside the rare exception, the community is oft too petrified to seem to want to openly talk anywhere else.

But still, it's a long, long way off. More than enough time for a bajillion threads about it's rewards, or how Nero smells bad, or something these Forums are wont to do.

That said, thank goooooood. I was hoping they'd just rework the mechanics so we'd have to do stuff properly but this is even better news.

It sounded like both dungeons were getting a pretty significant rework as they're transitioned to 4 man, including story adjustments.

Since they'll be Trust compatible when released, I suspect cutscene skipping will no longer be an issue. Those who want the full experience with whatever cutscenes will be able to do that by using Trust or queueing with friends. Those who don't care can queue normally.
