However if that were the case then Vyrerus wouldn't you think the ones that are of the better density have the "higher" intellect or even intelligence at that point? They are more on the source than on the shards.

I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
It's hard to say. We also deal with the idea that the soul's density increases for Source souls, but what of the corporeal aether? Like the aether actually making up a brain? Does that change, too? That might be the answer we're seeking.
A demonstrable thing would be the aether of our bodies pre-Sundering. The corporeal portion of a person was 3x the size of modern men. Ergo, the brain was 3x in size. Shard and Source men are the same size, physically, so they have brains of equal size.
It's just that Source bodies have greater aether reserves/an easier time interfacing their brain with magic, maybe? It's definitely interesting to think about how it works.

I mean its what Emet was saying though with the sundering about intelligence and that's why I tend to wonder. As I said compare someone from the first to someone on the source who has been joined 7 times and tell me how much of a difference there really is when comparing intelligence, since said person on the source us supposed to be "more" than the shard.
Especially showing that he has shown a history of prejudice towards those on both source and Shard. He may have thought that the sundering did that to everyone but he could have also been wrong and didn't completely know. Or even let said prejudice color his judgement or place him in denial.
And again this not being said to cast him in a negative light either just something I think is of interest because it can show him being even more human and prone to flaws besides being an obvious Mr Grumpy.

There's only really one direct comparison I can really make. Grenoldt to Gerolt.
Grenoldt is the Gerolt clone who makes our i430 SHB AF gear after we inspire him with the Faded Crystal of Light from the Role quests. While he's clearly very smart and talented to the point that he made his own underwater abode with pressure door and all of that, his know how for smithing hit a limit. He couldn't design anything better, so he needed inspiration to go on doing what he loved. He left the Crystarium after learning all he could there, and he taught no one anything.
Gerolt on the other hand lives for booze, but is the best smith in all of Eorzea and possibly the world. He's had a hand in crafting 4 relic stages for us, of every weapon type. Along with the Eurekan armor sets for Anemos. In Eureka he was able to instruct members of the expedition team in his methods, and they came up with the Elemental armor sets from there. Later in Bozja he's worked with smithing memories into our weapon.
While it's ultimately a faulty comparison, Gerolt certainly has an edge for Grenoldt in a lot of areas even though they're both stubborn jackasses and Gerolt is given to alcoholism whereas Grenoldt isn't, I think?
Beyond them, we could compare Allag to Ronka. They are analogues of one another, but it would seem that Allag has myriad examples of aetherochemical magitek, whereas Ronka's all merely aetherically imbued automata. That is to say, more akin to Sharlayan golems than to Allagan clockwork.

Chai Nuzz and Cid
Mowen and Rowena
I would say they're all equal to one another in the terms of intelligence ( the definition) even if in different ways

That doesn't matter in terms of Intelligence by said definition.
in·tel·li·gence
/inˈteləjəns/
noun
1.
the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
Chai Nuzz has his wife though that gives him good back cracking =P and no longer needs a chiropractor lol
I'm also convinced that Chai's wife is Jessie so that may count for something somewhere

I've got:
Intelligence -
1. capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings, etc.
2. manifestation of a high mental capacity:
3. the faculty of understanding.
There's no instances of handing Chai-Nuzz a great scenario of knowledge outside his Talos expertise. Giant Talos still a Talos. Cid on the other hand? Magitek for days, son! The Aetheric Ram in HW. Alexander. Omega's alien tech in Stormblood. Aetherburner in Endwalker. Time travel in the 8UC timeline.

Ohbcome on he was heir to daedulus and just because he hadn't been given anything else in terms of grand designs don't mean anything, he even now is the Mayor of Eulmore and went out himself to figure out how to improve relations with the dwarves and the people in the other towns!
Personality aside I doubt that he is lesser than Cid especially since they're both on par to applying the knowledge they have even if the knowledge differs in subject.
