I personally play this game mainly for the story but also there is plenty of other content in this game too, like extreme trials, savage/ultimate raids, deep dungeons that you can solo for a challenge, open world content like Eureka and Bozja, pvp (not great but its there), crafting, fishing, many mini games, there is also upcoming raids and a new challenge dungeon, this all can keep you busy for a long time so idk what you are talking about. I mean if you want nothing but raids and pvp then go play WoW or Lost Ark or just about any other mmo that isn't this one lol.
The only real grinds are designed to be grinds in XIV. Eureka or relic weapons are specifically made for people who like that kind of content, and those can not be skipped.
Main Story Quest? That's not a grind, it's literally the game.
This is never going to be become a hardcore endgame raid focused game.
They know their subscriber base would implode if they went that route.
i can see that there may be too many cutscenes in comparision to playing yourself.... but you lost me when you said pvp
Narrative stays.
Narrative presentation can be tweaked but people lose me when they start talking about "content". Narrative is content. If you want more raids, just say so. But there's plenty of content in the game.
But also, PvP? PvP is barely justified to even exist in this game.
Absolutely not. Why go away from what made FFXIV the great game that it is? That's not an intelligent path.As the title suggest, going forward I would like for SE to focus more on content rather than narrative. Not saying don't have a narrative, but to put content front and center. Open world content, more raids and 24 mans, pvp should be the center piece going forward. Not a narrative driven experience with dozens of hours of cutscenes, but rather something content driven with lore and world taking more of a spot than story.
