More Content, Less Narrative

As the title suggest, going forward I would like for SE to focus more on content rather than narrative. Not saying don't have a narrative, but to put content front and center. Open world content, more raids and 24 mans, pvp should be the center piece going forward. Not a narrative driven experience with dozens of hours of cutscenes, but rather something content driven with lore and world taking more of a spot than story.

No thanks. I'm here in large part because I enjoy the narrative focus. I'd hate to see this turn into WoW where all the effort goes into borrowed power systems and the narrative is treated like toilet paper.

There's still plenty of content to do in this game even with the narrative emphasis so there's really no reason for a change.

That... sounds like a horrible idea. I mean, don't get me wrong, I get where you're coming from and all. But you're going to an Italian restaurant and suggesting they start selling curry. If you want curry, you're better off finding something that meets your needs, rather than trying to change what's already working.

While i’d like both, at this point it seems once they get to a point where they tire of the current story, they just cut corners and rush it. That’s what happened with this expansion and it shows. At this point i’d very much like for them to release better content if that’s how they’re going to treat the narrative goi my forward.

Lol no. Many people, including myself, mainly play for the MSQ. I would die of boredom if they ever made pvp the main focus. In fact, I’d just stop playing the game period.

It won’t happen, devs said years ago story is the most important part of the game to them. I think the bigger issue is the clash between two vastly different player bases. There’s those of us who are mmo fans and wish this game focused on actually being the genre it claims to be, and then there are FF fans who primarily only care for a story game and don’t actually want to play an mmo. As the former, its just better to accept what FFXIV is - an mmo in the strictest sense, but primarily, a single player rpg. With that last livestream, they’ve made it abundantly clear what their priorities are. *shrug*

I'm good thanks, the one thing that does set this game above the rest is the story and I would not have that lessened for this "more content" when we have enough content as it is
