Vaguely related to thread but I feel an Amaurot 'beast-tribe' mechanic could be quite fun. Responsible for detailing the lore through some sort of lore collection systems, bringing it back to their archives and by extension enhancing the strength of the city and helping them be remembered. Historian, memorial, museum, like system- which I feel works well within their concepts. Major issue though being it's so late in the game it would take a while for players to get to enjoy the system. They could always have a façade system in place somewhere in the game and then Amaurot take over at point that you made the museum too big and need a large space, allowing it to be introduced earlier but still function within that space. Suggested that it might also have relationships to chocobo hot and cold in so much that some things you can dig up are unique archelogy related items (so the game has both a short term major goal and long term general gathering / mini-game mechanics, need that chocobo paradise too tho :3).
I really like that area, really cool. Would love to have some reasons to visit.
