This is why:
Due to the lack of a PTR they've been caught multiple times with bad systems, bad design, or outright terrible basic math on potencies.
This is why:Considering that there is usually some functional issue with WHM per expansion, they either don't care, don't properly test or don't have the necessary staff with knowledge of the role to deal with the issue far in advance. The fact that after over a decade we still have Freecure, all of the above.
Due to the lack of a PTR they've been caught multiple times with bad systems, bad design, or outright terrible basic math on potencies.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I’m still waiting for their justification of stormblood lilys
What 6-7 years later and I still have no idea who greenlit that
Oh didn't you know? "The community" was the one who said "wait for release and stop complaining about something you haven't played."
The community greenlit the dumb lillies as well.
Please tell me this is squares “justification” and not a validly held view considering nobody was trying to defend that trash fire before release
At best it was “they will change them for launch, they can’t really release that in the main game”
Very small very petty part of me wants to use that line on Monday when the new benchmark hits and people are giving feedback about the aesthetics.
I'd never say it. But I will think it a little bit.
HAHA NO! Some were actually geninuely saying "this version might actually be good, just wait and see." Even when the community broke it down 200 ways to sunday why it was terrible lol.
Kinda sad to see how the most Minute graphics changes get everyone flooding the forums with one post mimimimi topics, but healers being shafted the third time in a row barely leads to even the same old ill thought arguments being brought up to defend it.
Because unlike healers, Square actually cares about feedback on the graphics update
I'm happy that the graphics update feedback is getting acknowledged and recognized. I just wish the same could be said for the job design feedback. Healers, dark knight, summoner, paladin, samurai... All of it is completely ignored. Could you imagine if they took the same approach with job design as they have done with the graphics update? Revealing the new trajectory several patches ahead of time, gathering feedback, releasing a gameplay "benchmark" where you can test new job gameplay mechanics and give feedback?
It just really sucks that the literal gameplay is an afterthought to everything else.
meanwhile it's less than a month until launch and we still have no clear idea what we're gonna be playing with for the next 2 years [other than more of the same]
