What is uncertain is if an alt could be added as a new member to a FC today and given a rank with land acquisition privileges, and would then retain the privilege once 6.1 is released since they would already have been given the rank and privilege under the current rules. SE doesn't tend to remove things retroactively.

At this point, there's no harm in trying just in case. It won't make a FC any worse off, and it might actually work to its advantage.
I don't think that will be workable though, since the new requirements for purchasing a new FC plot is that you need to be a member of the FC for at least 30 days.

Doesn't matter if you have land acquisition privelege or not in any case since the 30 days requirement will override it.
