Have to admit the 3 to 1 ward split is very surprising. I would have thought an even split would have been more in line and still give FC's the advantage when it comes to housing.

Agreed. We know they have the ability to make each world different. Even if they didn't want to go to that much effort for every world with the lottery's release, it would have made sense to do it for Materia.

they just did it this way so that they force players (or entire FCs) onto Materia, the ones that don't mind to break their social circles, abandon their FCs and friends all for a chance to actually own a house. I really hope this will blow up in their faces, and soon.

Nah, it's not spite, it's just not thinking outside JP and all the complaints they had about FCs moving into the new virtual datacentre they are making there (and there were a lot of those complaints). "We abandoned our FC house on the old DC and moved already, but we will still never get a FC house" they were saying. So, SE address that this way. Come next patch, when the moved JP FCs have their plots, things might slide back a bit.

What is clear though - absolutely clear - is that the wise strategy on Materia is now to use one's single ticket to get the personal first, and then only go into the FC wards for the FC haus when the second round or third round happens. There is no way the FC houses will run out, but it's probable the personals will.

Best suggestion I can give to people who were planning both... Grab that personal in round 1, come back for the FC later.

Got a large in Empyreum with no other bids as expected because of the low population, and the wait most definitely wasn't worth it even though I got the plot I wanted.

What a pointless system and the bug just disproportionately screwed our data centre even more including some of my disappointed friends who are forced to wait even longer for this to be resolved. Materia should have never had the same blanket rules and distributions as other data centres.

I already know there's going to be a trend of ignoring the OCE playerbase beyond this one issue, while SE responds immediately to any concerns from JP like they did with the 30 day rules for FC's after the JP data centre split. I just hope they realize this mess could have been avoided for us very easily if they spared a single thought for what actually made sense for Materia.

Now to do this whole long and arduous song and dance again for the FC plot where we will once again have no competition, but be forced to wait another week.
