these new designs steal a lot of the character and charm from the designs, ultimately making them bland and generic, just another fantasy design.
updating poor grass textures in places like idyllshire is one thing, but completely ruining the vibes supplied by the current games character design is awful.
ontop of this the apparent clash there will be between players and npcs who receive and dont receive a graphical update will just ruin the immersion of players, especially newer ones.
please reconsider updating the characters graphical appearance. gear and areas might not be bad, but if that preview is what we have to look forward to its just going to ultimately ruin a lot of the current charm in the game, itll completely rob the game of its familiarity with those who have been with it for a long time, and itll completely take people out of it when they see these npcs that dont have some random graphical update.
id rather be happy than right, so if we see later updates and it truly does look better, something that actually looks like an improvement of what we have now, im willing to accept it, but as it is now i feel like im lamenting the next expansion and what its going to do to the game ive loved for so many years.
the game doesnt need a graphical update to look stunning. sights like the ruby sea in the evening, the steppe at night, the hecking last area in endwalker. these all blew me away. plenty of characters have looked fantastic and inspire countless compliments from others. so please, if this update must happen, take a much more restrained approach, at least with the characters. please.
