For the game to stay around for another 10 years a graphic update needs to happen, you have to remember the game is now 11 years old. It still looks great of it's age but we need a bit of a face flit in the age of 4k and all that.

The new upgrade is much needed, this game hasn't seen an update in character models in almost a decade. I think for a month into it, the models so far look great. They still stay true to the original look of the characters with a more polished/crisp/brightened look. I disagree completely with the OP.
Another day, another case of someone equating something looking really dated to charm.
Crazy.

I know its a copy and paste from the other thread but i think it fits here to
All i see is that they added a Darker Background an put some dirt on all of the character Faces. The hair looks a bit darker, but thats thanks to the background and overall darker lightning of the images on the right side. The miquoe looks a bit sharper but thats not such a big change if you play with 4k resolution. If you would put left and right side on the same brightness level there would be nearly no difference. The eyes look a bit more glossy but pc thats also nothing new for pc users.
At least for us PC players there is already an option available since years that has just a minimal performance impact (depends on the settings) and looks way better than what they have shown so far, even with the worst preset. If they really want to know how this game could look like (since over 5 years) they should take a closer look at one of the dozens awesome reshade presets for this game and add the most used filters to this game (most of the time people use the same 5 or 6 filters just with different settings).
just a quick few examples that i had still on my HD of what is already possible with just a little effort. This game can really look amazing with the right filters, at least for us PC users.
What i really want to see are more detailed caracter models.

This is ugly though ?I know its a copy and paste from the other thread but i think it fits here to

For someone who complains about a change that would just be "a darker background", posting images where the saturation is just pushed to the extreme is... comical, at best.
And no, sorry: I can understand not liking the changes, but it's not just "dirt" and "a darker background" (sigh). The "dirt" you're talking about is a more detailed skin texture; also look at the eyes, where you clearly have two different planes in the new images.

Tastes are different and images look a bit different on each device, also there are a few more adjustments than just saturation (like sharpness for example). I didnt make extra screenshoots and just piked a few randoms from my folder. If you prefer the color and lifeless original that makes the caracters feel more like puppets without any life thats totaly fine to me. I prefer the other setting.

I'm not questioning your tastes (doesn't concern me). I'm questioning the technical aspect of those pictures.Tastes are different and images look a bit different on each device, also there are a few more adjustments than just saturation (like sharpness for example). I don't know if it's due to a screen problem or something else (you said your game was quite dark on your equipment), but the screenshots you're showing us can't pass on the technical side. The saturation is so high that it burns out the lighter colors. And after a closer look, there is hardly any extra sharpness: it's just that the contrasts are so exaggerated that they give the illusion of having elements that stand out more clearly from each other.
It's clearly much less natural than the more sober colors we have nowadays, because it's so far from our vision.

The reshaders don't help at all with the horrible shadows and jank textures they can't alter.
I'm also baffled by the amount of posters who jumped to discuss/start doom and gloom without knowing the full context of the overhaul.
The textures and lighting are only SOME of the changes. They're doing it in phases.

Well thats true but they can make things look sharper and and a bit smoother and improve the overall appearance. But of course it would be better if all thouse textures in this game had higher resolutions
