Hello!
I just released a website where FFXIV players can showcase their events and houses: https://thesource.fun/
I've been working on this for some time already and I think it's ready to be released to the public!
The goal of the Thesource is to create a hub where people can browse and share their events easily. The site also has a housing category where people can share their houses.
This is the full list of current features
- Create events with description, images, links and rich content.
- Create house posts with location info and images.
- Find events with filters (location, server, etc) and tags.
- Edit and manage your events.
- Save your favourite events and houses.
- A calendar that keeps track of events you joined or participate.
- All events are shown in local time.
- Validated ownership: all the events and houses are created with validated characters (against the lodestone).
- Public profile page with your created listings.
- Profile with options to customize the site experience.
- Dark (Zodyark) / Light (Hydaelyn) themes.
- And many more features to come ...
Right now there is events and housing, but in the future other categories will be added as well: basically anything you do in the game that you want to share to others and has pictures, descriptions and can be taggeable to be easy to find.
How to get updates, support and ask questions
You can join the discord server to talk about features, bug report or anything you want: https://discord.gg/KAAbBmk3fC

Why thesource?
How does it compare to event sharing alternatives?
- In-game party finder: many people use it to post their events, but a) someone needs to be online and refresh every X hours b) relegated to "other" tab with limited characters c) some content might not be proper to post in-game.
- Discord servers: not all have discord servers, but many events have great servers and it works just fine. The site does not try to replace this at all, but help reach more people.
- Twitter: same cons as discord, still good for announcing your own events but depends on personal reach.
- FFXIV forum: not event focused, need to create one post per event, no features.
- Community Finder: mainly focused in joining guilds, groups and linkshells.
Important: cross-link to other sites is totally ok. So if you want to post links to your discord/carrd/twitter/etc you can do it and even set up social links in user profile.
Roadmap
A roadmap for future updates can be found in the discord server and patreon posts.
