Its actually embarrassing telling my friends who play other MMO's how high end gear is distributed in this game. I tell them you have to spam two dungeons and beat each one in less than 25 minutes to get a chance at all pieces of armor, which is less than 5%. They ask how many times I have done both dungeons, I answer saying that I have beaten the dungeons more than 400+ times. They ask how many pieces I have, I answer that I only have Darklight Gauntlets. They ask me why I am wasting my time on a system that works like this and doesn't properly reward the hardcore player, I couldn't give a proper answer.

I have talked about this in several other posts, but hell, I will talk about it again. This is definitely by far the worst dungeon structure/rewarding system I have ever seen in not only MMO's, but just online games in general. I want to ask SE, "Do you really want us to hate your content?", because this seems to be the case. You take time to make these dungeons, you make delays on patches to make sure they are right, yet, you make forceful methods to make people blast through it and exploit whatever they can.

Every time you take a step forward, you take two steps back and trip over a coffee table. I understand the amount of people working on the 1.xx content is dramatically lower than the team focusing on 2.0, but this isn't an excuse to go half-ass on your current content. Right now, your "only" chance of surviving this and making 2.0 successful is us. I don't believe you can come in and say "Ohh this is the best stuff, so the drop system is fair.". No it is not! It is completely unfair and it doesn't reward the hard working and only rewards the lucky.

It really pisses me off when I see someone coming in gloating that they got their full Darklight already and claiming the system is fine. No it isn't. Would your answer be the same if you did the run 400+ times and all you have to show for it is a pair of gauntlets? I doubt you would. If anything, it is simply a middle finger that Joe Blow got his set in less than 100 runs and I am at 400+ and only gotten one piece. It would be one thing if I was outlotted on pieces I want, but I have never even seen the pieces drop before! It is insane! At this point, I would love to see "anyone" in my LS have a full Darklight set, but the problem is, it just never shows. We sweat blood every night since 1.21, completing speed runs and going through a large series of disappointments. The worst part is, we get nothing coming out of it! How is this fair SE? How is it fair we dedicate ourselves so much to your game, yet, you just throw a middle finger out of the 5th chest and say "Ohh well, try again!". Hard work should be rewarded, not by RNG.

This game you said is a theme park, it looks more like a casino to me. Basing content on complete luck is the worst way to make content last till the next thing. Its funny how you say you want gear to be outdated in a few month span. If this is your methods, then how are people suppose to catch up to your demands. I get my gauntlets finally based off your RNG system, and hey look now! There is better gear that came out!

What I like about other MMO's is when you beat something in other major content is that at least "someone" comes out happy. This is how it should be. "Something" has to be guaranteed worth your time, despite if you won something or not. "Something" has to drop each time, and if putting more restrictions and raising the difficulty is what you need to do, then have at it.

You say cater to the casuals, but we are back at square one on this issue. The biggest issue with FFXIV when it launched was the the developers catered to the casuals by punishing the hardcore players. Yoshida said in his interviews that he wanted to have a balance between the two. So...your idea of balancing the two was to...let you spam the same dungeon over and over with a luck based reward system? I am sorry casuals, but I believe we need to lean more towards the hardcore side. It needs to be set that casuals can still have fun with the game, but hardcore players ultimately need to be the better rewarded. Something as simple as a token system would solve a lot of issues. Can make it that a chance that a Darklight piece drops, but if not, you are guaranteed tokens to work towards a piece, this is an alternative option.

So let me ask SE, how come your community can make a better dungeon/raiding system than you? You need to be the ones on top of their game, not us. I know some of this is experimental content in helping get feedback to making 2.0 a great game, but I think you are taking that too far. I look at 2.0 as a completely new game, and until 2.0 comes in, I treat 1.xx like a full game and not a beta for helping make another game better. You need to keep me hooked into "this game" until 2.0 arrives. You need to give me a reason to say, "1.xx is really good now! And knowing 2.0 will come out will make it better!". Right now, 1.xx is meh at best, and I see the effort to make creative content is minimal at best. Again, I understand your situation, you have a very small team handling the client. But that small team needs to be on top of their game and making the current ride as enjoyable as possible till we get our next game. The best way to do this? Listen to us, cater to us, hand us a Twix bar so we will shut up and be happy.

On a positive note, you guys do a great job! You really do! This game has improved so much since it's initial release and I only see a bright future from 2.0, but you just need to listen to us. Some of us can be logical people (Not sure if I am one of them. oo! Make our last few months before Dalamud hits enjoyable, fix the dungeon content/Hamlet content please. Make a more fair system that rewards the hardcore player, but casuals can still keep up to an extent. Make us work towards something, not pull a crane on a slot machine and hope for the best.

Sorry if this post was too long, I have a lot of feelings towards the direction of this game. >_>
