Yeah see that where we start to agree. Its stupid and unnecessary to "punish" your team because of your whims. Thats when I believe is where we start getting into inferiority complexes with players acting petty

However its not a complex for tanks to believe that they have to pull aggro first because thats how its intended in the logical holy trinity structure with dungeons. Its how its always been in my time playing this game. Only a couple times have I seen others try to pull mobs ahead of the tank and most of those times we either go about our business, the tank is attentive enough to quickly round up the aggro or we pay for it dearly as the tank wasnt prepared for getting all the aggro and the healer dies due to lack of communication or hubris.

    This behavior goes both ways

This discussion is about tanks that refuse to pick up off of people who pull, hence the "you pull, you tank" mentality. It's not a discussion about ill-prepared tanks, it's about tanks throwing a fit.

This might work for GNB and DRK, but the other two tanks don't even need a healer in dungeons above a certain point.Good luck controlling the pacing of a job that requires no aid.

Its kinda weird this community defends being a dick to other people, a dps can't really disrupt gameplay that much in this game when pulling before tank... atleast before high end.

This is assuming the tanks play their role to the most optimum levels as far as some content goes. But, when looking at this thread, tanks don’t want to try very hard. Someone other than a tank pulling may require mitigation. Tanking without a healer does require mitigation. Not all tanks want to press their buttons

I wish that was true. Whats more like it is that tanks who USE THIER ABILITIES on pulls don't need a healer. SOO many tanks push 1 button for the giant pull and then don't really do anything to manage their damage after that.

While we're at it let's also talk SGE. They need to pop some shields so they will be pulling mobs for a few hits. "You pull, you tank" just doesn't work.
    Yes.

As Sage, I preshield the tank and myself between pulls. Because I'm going to go aoe ham while they are getting pulled and may rip one or two but that's okay because that gives another Toxicon stack, which is more damage to weave in for free as mobs are getting pulled. We can always gap close to the tank or run in to the same resting spot.

That's just my opinion! Tanks shouldn't do this!
You bring them to me, I'll take them. You don't bring them to me I'll just watch munching on my snack of choice at the time watching your HP drop to 0 because you couldn't wait a few bloody seconds.

It's almost like seeing the dark-side of the game that I rarely if ever seen inside the game itself. Despite amount of complain/fluff cake I see on here, I think the number of time I run into a matching incident in the game in my all 10 years of playing is probably counted on the fingers.

My advise: go to reddit if you want to find people enjoying the game. Half of this forum feels like people are being forced to play the game as gun-point, or doing it as a job.

To my fellow forumers: it is only now I realize it's a blessing that I have never played with any of you.
    Thank you.

These forums are terrible and do not reflect the FFXIV community.

... this is the FFXIV community, what are you talking about? You're literally putting on a blindfold here.
