Thread: 2.0 PLEASE DELIVERRRR!

As 2.0 approaches and I look back at the time since launch, I could spend hours detailing the things i've hated in this game and I could spend a little less time talking about the things i've loved.
In the end, I would never have spent the amount of time I have spent on this game if I didn't have very high hopes for it (and i don't think im alone). Some days i'm certain the team is going to deliver... and other days, i'm worried this has all been for not. I don't want to move on to another mmorpg (we all know there are many). I want FFXIV to be great. This franchise has delivered some of the greatest all time moments in gaming history, please SE, deliver! Copy FF IV if you have to, Copy VI, Copy VII...i don't care. Just don't blow it! This is mainly a rant, but I really hope the entire FF team (online or not) realizes how much is at stake with this release...sack up and make this game the FF that everyone has been wanting for for soooo long. The potential is there!!!!! /endrant

i feel that people should not get into too much of the hype 2.0 going to be awesome but it going to be missing a lot of stuff and it going to take a few patch to get all the stuff in at least the game would have no lag and no issue and the patch can come out sooner and sooner without much bugs vs 1.0 version of the game.

i just hope the content that has come out thus far, as impressive as its been given the circumstances, isn't par for the course. i would gladly stop playing at this point to take pressure off the dev team if it meant the release of 2.0 was off the charts good. Im just back to where I was pre FF XIV...expecting a lot, hoping its amazing. I'm not used to worrying that FF games will suck, but FF XIV at launch really bummed me and a lot of other faithful fans out. I'll probably play either way because I love the franchise so much, but I just really hope it exceeds expectations....and i'm occasionally worried that it wont ><

I don't really care what happen from 2.0 and on i just hope it does not become other wow-clone with the idea of raid finder and changing the bar to square it's like we don't really need to change the ui to the point that look like wow and the wow-clones try to be diff but still take in the idea if you know what i mean.

I dont think another WoW with FFXIV skin is what the MMO community actually wants. It may capture a niche audience, who knows. When you're up against Guild Wars 2, TERA, ArcheAge, Mabinogi2, etc., you better come prepared. FFXIV so far has graphics, but it always had that.

Nothing in 2.0 really stands out so far, feature-wise.

This 10 day we have now has been an utter shame and a complete let down to some people, all my friends been unable to join my server, and forced to start on other servers. Due to this they cant do anything, everything requires so many people they were out of luck, and i couldn't even PL them. So they gave up hope completely and "maybe see in 2.0".

2.0 will be good for the most of us, but I believe very strongly it will still struggle to fetch in people if it doesn't prove itself, I feel ashamed when Yoshi says he wants us to tell our friends to come back (and as you can see, i tried that, and it made things worse).

Being a "Final Fantasy" title now means nothing due to the failure to begin with, and only the game itself can show that, fancy graphics is not going to win over people, especially when there is millions willing to play swtor/gw2/minecraft/wow etc and we all know their dont excel in graphics XD

Fortunately, there will not be this "Coming in 2.0", there will be no more "working on 1.x and 2.0 side by side", no more major overhauls and code limitations (To an extent). So hopefully they can focus on content. They also have the PS3.

I am slightly worried for 2.0, i know we've heard lots coming, but for me, its just words right now, I want to "SEE" it, words failed me in 1.0, so i cant rely on him saying this and that, something can sound great on paper but implementation is not so good.

I dont buy into the whole "be WoW but with an FF Twist", i dont think they will stoop this far because it will not help in anyway at all. There are plenty of these games around, they dont take over.

everything requires so many people 8 man is really not a lot of people seeing how ffxi requires 18-36 players and Yoshi-p said that 2.0 would have alliance system if that means 3 party together that 24 players a good enough size for a endgame raid like he was thinking of 2+hours.

but i'm sure in 2.0 your friend can join you it suck that your world is close.
