Smol indie company.
This is so depressing honestly. Despite making so much money and gathering such a large playerbase in shadowbringers…we’re repaid by less content. Funny how before i mentioned this i was told i was making things up by a significant amount of people but here’s the proof right here.
Regarding all the talk about gear re-use, I've taken the time to compile the data across all four expansions.
This is looking at gear from a WAR point of view.
Explanation below the image.
Link if images doesn't load: https://imgur.com/gallery/8JVr3JK
Purple: First time the gear model was used, never used since
Green: First time the gear model was used, later re-used
Blue: Re-used gear, but role-swapped
Yellow: Gear re-used on same role
For the re-used and swapped gear, I've listed the name of the original item.
Not including AF, tome or raiding gear as they even out across the expansions. While HW AF gear was tome2, the expansion did have the crafted Chivalric Coat set that was unique at the time (re-used in 3.05).
This does not look at dye, only gear models.
Based on this, we can see that the amount of new gear models is lowering from expansion to expansion.
Indeed, but now we're getting new shadows and shaders! This is so depressing honestly. ..... With an even longer patch cycle.
I'm mostly concerned that we're not going to be getting another Eureka/Bozja-like field zone because while some people hated them, I always liked having more zones to roam about and fight in.
I feel like Eureka was more "controversial" and they still ended up doing Bozja so while there might not be one this expansion I'm not too worried they'll never do one again.
I thought the gameplay loop and mechanics of Bozja were more fun than Eureka, but visually Eureka blew Bozja out of the water so hopefully they take the best parts of both and combine them and keep improving on these types of zones in the future.
Personal opinion, they make too many things at once, NO ONE needs new gear each two level, white one, then green one every two ones as well. It has simply blown up, leaving less design for new ones also, since most design had to be used on the in between levels already.
Side note: We also have way to mach crafting material, it's too overcomplicated with how many things exist, the worst example coming to my mind in this is, I think it was a powder or stone that is used ONCE in the whole game for an MCH weapon. Just like powers gear also requires a bloat reduction honestly at times.
Or Ink... all those sands.... and the worst offender to me, like 60% of the alchemist stuff lolPersonal opinion, they make too many things at once, NO ONE needs new gear each two level, white one, then green one every two ones as well.
