Gil is too hard to obtain.
Let me clarify.
Gil is too hard to obtain because selling items on the market is only something that can be done by people who are online the most amount of time. Selling anything is nearly impossible if you are not on at least 8 hours a day, or undercut to such an extreme severity that the people (or bots I honestly dont know) are forced to buy your item because they will make back their money. I have had the same 30-40 items on the market for weeks, and I do check for undercuts several times a day, but its not enough.
Since I came back to the game right before 6.0 launched, there are people standing by the retainer bells that have literally been in the SAME EXACT SPOT since I returned. I cant post an item in the market without it being undercut by 1 gil in less then 15 minutes. I've tested this multiple times.
I've been under 100k for...oh man I dont even know how long. Materia is basically my only source of income but oh hey...I usually need those!
This wasnt such a big problem during earlier versions of the game because items such as materia were not given to people by the fistful....so you could sell just a few and be set for a good amount of time. I understand the idea of making certain items more accessible for casual players, but yall went crazy with the Materia.
Im a pretty casual player, but Im online quite a bit, doing all but the most HC content...and the gil you get from doing any of that is nonexistent. The gil given for queing as an adventurer in need has been low since the system came out if you ask me.
I dont really talk to a whole lot of people in game, so I cant say for sure if a lot of people have this problem or not. But I have thought up at least one solution that would not only enable people to make gil a bit easier, but improve the health of the economy as a whole. Add a timer on anything posted to the market that prevents removal until the timer has ended. Another solution COULD be to merge the market of servers on a single datacenter. However...its probable that would just exacerbate the issue.
Or make it simple and add a way to convert items bought in the store into gil. Im so glad I'm not on Gilgamesh tbh...
