Your perspective is as valid as mine, but I generally try to examine my own biases. I feel the same somedays about people who have "triggers" about being called heavy and remember how I went through most of the school system basically on a fast track to becoming the next mass shooting incident. But I'm ok... but this doesn't mean my experience is any less nor is a "trigger" something to make fun of.. more something to try and understand and realize that people growing up now and then and before then live entirely different lives and under different social pressures that I cannot imagine.

It’s not just 14, although it’s quite common in people in the game - when hearing anything negative they will either immediately change the subject or reply with some patronising “just cheer up” kinda comment.

Imo it’s important to experience negativity in life and we all do at some point and it helps us deal with tough situations which we will all face at some point.

I wonder about these people who refuse to let any negativity in their life. What happens when it inevitably does happen, they must crumble.

Have you ever considered the fact that people play games for fun? Why do you assume that people who don't want to deal with negativity while trying to have fun never experienced struggle or hardship? Maybe they struggle in real life so they seek to escape to video games? Do you go to a birthday party and instead of letting people have their fun, you would remind them that life is futile and death is inevitable?

Have you ever considered that to some people winning is fun? Competing is fun? Why do you assume that everyone who takes something seriously isn't trying to have fun? Do you go to a funeral and instead of letting people mourn you tell them to cheer up, there's a baby being born somewhere right now? /sarcasm

See, this is what's called perspective. We can't tell others to respect ours if we don't even try to understand and/or respect theirs. Semi-joke on the side...

What she was clearly trying to say is that people shouldn't shy away from topics because they're sensitive or can be perceived as "negative". People can't seem to be able to stomach any sort of criticism nowadays which is okay, preponderate analysis and introspection isn't for everyone, but don't go rushing into such topics like "No guys! Stop discussing! Everything is fine!" If you don't want to "see the negativity", it's actually rather simple:

I am little bit younger than you. I agree we could be true ourself and everyone while being civilise and respectful. I feel we are in a very terrible era of extreme polarised. One side using freedom to justify their malice while other side take everything as offensive, and it is spreading across the globe like a disease

Lots of ways of coming at those stereotypes and "my generation is tough, yours is soft". Every generation thinks the ones after them are the worst ever and the ones before them are the dumbest ones ever. We all are products of the trials and struggles of our time.
I laugh when my mom can't figure out technology, she laughs at me when I struggle with basic housekeeping cause my robots broke down.
I'm probably a baby to most of you (I'm in my 20s ftr) but having dealt with parents and their kids I 10000% will tell you that sometimes the entitlement starts at home lol

I think it’s redundant to make a distinction between positive and negative “toxic” people.

Toxicity comes in many forms, but no matter how you label it, it’s still toxic.

For me at least, its hard to sit back and watch the community criticize certain aspects of the game that I find to be actually some of the best parts of it. Its even hard to sit back and watch requests for features and systems from other games that I personally witnessed cause harm to those other games and their communities. XIV players dont know how good they got it.

Everyone has different opinion. Some people just being really selfish, think only their thoughts are correct, and everyone is wrong. Not everyone is good listener. Someone just do not accept anything outside the box.

The famous "toxic positivity" is only visible on Twitter or Reddit or here in the forums. Ingame i do not notice it. And as long as you can ignore Twitter or Reddit it should be fine.

    Cheers
