You would think people here were getting paid to defend some of these choices that SE makes for this game.

If you refuse to admit the game may have some faults, you also ignore the game has areas where it could improve, making for a better overall experience for everyone
If someone makes a criticism of the game, it's not very useful if their criticism is not scrutinized. Just as someone has to play the critic, someone has to play the defense, just like in a court room. If they can't handle the person playing the defense, then maybe the side being critical lost the argument. If most people do not agree with the criticism, then maybe the majority of people simply disagree with them. Calling it toxic positivity seems like something that people say when their opinion is unpopular and they can't handle that it's unpopular. Maybe they could just accept that it's unpopular.
Yep, people tie their own identity with that of this game and the community, so in turn any criticism of it is a criticism of them. It would be hard to find a much more tribalistic community than what can be found here.

True fan would criticise and take criticism of the thing they love.
We criticised it because we love it, because we want our voice heard, we want it improve or just discuss our views, we might not agree with each other but, shutting down opposite opinion will not let the game growth
The game does have faults. But there are also a lot of nitpick over intentional design decisions, that shouldn't really be changed because that changes the games overall design and will put off current customers who like said design elements.
All criticism is valid, but not all criticism is good.
I wasn't aware calling someone a long string of foul names constituted "playing the defense", but aight.
But uh... that aside, is the OP trying to get a vacation from the forums? Because that's sure what it looks like.
Okay but why do discussions on the forums turn into something that has to be won? That's how threads devolve into arguments where people are just spewing insults at each other. It's an open forums where people express opinions and ideas, no matter positive or negative. It's not about people battling each other. Not every discussion has to be a fight. It's extremely unfortunate that you feel the need to approach discussions in that mannerIf someone makes a criticism of the game, it's not very useful if their criticism is not scrutinized. No context given, but there is a difference between "I don't like this because..." and advising people not to do certain content because it's "!@#$ing garbage" or "The game is total --- before HW!" If you come in shooting don't be surprised if people fire back.
