Something like that is mentioned (the food being bland or hinted at in Endwalker also) there's a scene in Garlemald where one of the twin adders says the soup is basically too spicy for them and another comments that their taste buds suck (not exactly worded that way but you just know they're ripping into him for his lack of taste)
