Mage- with either sleek & elegant robes or a witch in the woods with a giant worn hat & a grimoire
but for ffxiv, I like AST- the glamours for the mage aesthetic I prefer aren't great in ffxiv.
This very much dissapointed me
Especially since it seemed far dull & alluring,
Personally I wish Paladin would’ve gone further than that

Summoner for me because I love nothing more than summoning actual gods to help and protect me.
I also don’t like that they use books. I always wanted them to use crystals like floating around them kinda what sage has going on.
my favorite class fantasy isn't in the game right now unfortunately. For the classes we do have, I like the idea of Dancer.
God, this is a hard one...lol and giggity!
Um, I really like Dragoon for the way it just freely jumps in the hair brandishing nothing but a pole arm and slamming down head first into their enemies. Finally, being able to see exactly how they move in action thanks to the FFXIV trailers (Heavensward and Shadowbringers), honestly, they're one of the most beautiful, majestic and mightiest job classes I've ever seen and I absolutely love them!
Summoner, I've always been a huge fan of being able to summon powerful friendly monsters that could help me whenever I called them. Rydia from FFIV got me obsessed with them when I was a kid and I always wanted to play a fully fleshed out Summoner in a video game where I could see it in all its visually stunning glory! So, I'm really glad we finally get that in Endwalker instead of walking around with the special three piece tenders like we used to. And while, I think SMN right now could use a little something here and there to make it a hit more exciting to play, I'm overall very satisfied with it at the moment and just love spamming summoning our 5 favorite primals to rain butter Destruction and despair upon our enemies!
And speaking of Despair, Black Mage and Reaper. I love the way these two feel when fighting enemies. Being able to effortless now down enemies with my scythe and avatar or my Megumin levels of Destructive magical powers always brings me a sense of immense joy and satisfaction. Nothing feels better than seeing a sudden chunk of my foes HP suddenly disappear because I just nearly split the heavens in to just to nearly kill them with one of my most potent magical spells or the constant flurrying motion of my big two handed scythe~
And then there's Samurai...Like Reaper and Black Mage, I can't get enough of ripping my enemies to absolute SHREDS with it! Just trying to hit my combos faster and faster to see how many enemies I can kill before my other party members can always fills me with so much excitement! I feel the most at home when playing this class and honestly, it'll probably end up as my main main class for this character because I feel I'm the best at it compared to all the other classes. The only thing I wish we could have for it later on is Hian's limit break attack from Ghimit Dark as a regular special attack. That was an amazing attack, the way he was drawing in all that fiery energy into his blade to deliver one swift but powerful strike to the enemies magitek weapon. I hope we can get it someday.
I can keep going, as I haven't even touched on Machinist and Monk yet, but I'll shut right here so I don't make this post any longer than it needs to be, lol!

Assassin.
Daggers, close quarter combat, quick and nimble, style and finesse, swift precision kills, yes. My first Assassin/Rouge was from playing WoW back in 2004. What REALLY set in stone my love for Assassin's was Dragon's Dogma. I put in ridiculous amount of hours in DD just to play Assassin. It was so over-the-top. Crazy flashy weapon skills? A double jump?? SICK PARRIES!?
Yes.

There's a couple but my all time favorite is AST, especially during SB with the time magic abilities. I love the idea of editing the past/fate so that they didn't get hurt or reduce it ala reverting it or preventing it.
The cards are fun too as the fortune-telling aspect. On top of the gorgeous sfx effects, a space/time mage has always interested me.
SGE is really cool too as they feel like a somewhat modern doctor (Diagnosis/Prognosis) with a techy aesthetic.
DRG is super cool because I love polearm weapons and dragons are a nice touch.

I wish I could say I have one, but I really don't. I have a long history with Final Fantasy and have been playing the games since FFI. And there was Dragon Quest before that, which is what got me into true RPGs. It's been so long that the six or so years I've been a SCH main in this game is quite recent in comparison to how many of FF's iconic jobs have appealed to me in one way or the other, and at different points in time. I didn't even play SCH in FFXI. Hated the job actually. I was a RDM main in FFXI, and I don't care much for that job now in FFXIV.
If I could name one, it would be the one that has remained consistent throughout the franchise with me, which is MNK. I grew up on brawler games like Double Dragon, Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, and 8-bit Kung-Fu; and I have strong feeling that the dev(s) most involved with MNKs and also DNCs design in EW did too.
